Re-directing to other sites?

In the past week or so I’ve been getting redirected to some other sites with a pop-up about having won some amazon card or something. Is anyone else getting this? On my iPhone it’s happened whether viewing the mobile or full site and has happened when using both safari or through the gmail app (when accessing the site through an email notification of a new post) and has also been happening on my iPad as well.

Are you signed into EvOM?

If not, that makes all the diff w/the pop-ups

Yes, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to post. It happened even while starting this thread.

I've been seeing the same thing, it's annoying. Also, on some forums, when I try to use the search feature it takes me to a totally different site.

I get the same thing, but when browsing using private mode or incognito mode even on the phone it helps so much.

I've been getting pop ups for years (or at least seems like it), while using the mobile app. It's always telling me how I've won something or, usually, "oh no! your device is infected" blah blah.

Hey guys,

I'll try to get them cleaned up as soon as possible as they are all over internet not just Evom. Try logging out, clear your cookies and cache (Ctrl F5 in Windows) then log back in to Evom. I believe they are being served up from hacked ads, but the techs will have to determine. Sorry.

Hey guys,

They should have been removed yesterday, please let me know if that is not the case. Thanks.

I use Linux, with Noscript (to disable unwanted javascripts), ublock origin (for obvious reasons) and never see any hacked adds, or unwanted messages on any site for that matter. This also provides a much safer and enjoyable internet experience.

I can't use this site through the mobile app. Every page ends up taking me to a "you have a virus" page. I gave up and now only log in from home, on my lap top.

I haven't yet tried "view desktop site".

Hey guys,

These malicious ads are not unique to Evom or IB. IB is working on a solution but it's not an easy fix.

https://product.voxmedia.com/2018/1/...to-secure-them

For now please consider viewing the site on the Desk Top version from your mobile device. I'll update this thread as progress news is made available.
