Thanks for the vid Kevin! He said he dynoed 496 WHP. It's cool that he didn't catch up until I was in fifth for about 5 seconds. My little EVO was done! bryans2k walked him on the highway, too! bryans2k has a strong Evolution.

that mustang must be a fat pig if he can't destroy an EVO with more then 100 less hp. hehe he said he had tire spin through 3rd. right.... i would believe pulling timing thats about it. or his dyno figures are greatly inflated.

Are you going to mount the camera to the harness bar?

i am going to use my DV camera on the harness bar yes. and then i think i will start with two bullet cams. one rear racing on the trunk lid, and one front facing on the pass door sill.

Thats from when I had my car dynoed around christmas in Maryland. It was done on a mustang dyno and it was very cold that day, like 30 degrees. The car felt alot stronger on the east coast, as I was able to run 26 degrees of timing advance with no detonation. When I drove back west I started hearing pinging as I got close to Texas. Not sure if its the quality of air, altitude, or gas here, but I had to pull out 6 degrees of timing and add some fuel to stop the knocking. I feel like I lost at least 20 hp. Gotham Racing was riding shotgun in my car on that race, and he can vouch that I was spinning the tires all the way through third gear before it hooked and I started to catch up. Look at the dyno sheet and you'll see how flat the torque curve is and how low down it starts. Getting traction on the street is pretty much hopeless when it is that cold out. I need to get some drag radials. Also, I don't get why you guys are talking trash on the forum when you all seamed cool at the meet. Yea the silver evo beat me, I admit that. But I find it amusing that it required the car to be pretty much gutted. Why do that to a 30k+ car I don''t understand unless its strictly a track car. I mean the windows didn't even go down, and I heard that at one point he had the dash out and the instrument cluster zip tied to the steering column. The cobra isn't light stock. Curb weight is about 3600 lbs. I have full interior, a/c, power steering, spare tire, everything still. I respect any fast car and had alot of fun that night, just don't like people twisiting the facts around.

Hey man, I don't think it REQUIRED the car to be gutted but I am not saying it didn't help. You never caught up after he got the jump on you. Keep in mind when saying that you lost power coming to Texas that we are also breathing the same air and running the same gas as you now. That's a pointless point to make.

Regarding you spinning the tires or being heavy, well, you bought the car. IMO, when you buy a car, you buy it's advantages along with its disadvantages. I bought the car that allows me to forgo traction issues for less power potential at the limit. I have half the motor and I am making a lot more than half as much power as you. There is also something to be said for that. I am done buying cars for one extreme feature, rather now I go for a more complete package. Just my 2.
