Anyone Want a Job as a Rooftop Sniper?
Someone came through our work parking lot yesterday and broke into three cars.
Took two stereos and one detachable face. The sad thing is that they probably caused more than $2000 worth of damage, and they'll be lucky if they can pawn the things for a total of $100. I hate working in the f-ing ghetto.
Luckily I didn't drive yesterday--I carpool. But I had to drive today. I'm scared to even park up here anymore. I never keep ANYTHING in my car, but it's the kind of car that looks like it might have something. I was wanting to by a UTEC Tuner, but now I'll have to look at other options (maybe mount it in the glove box?)
One of the guys that got broken into was hit a few months ago for his old stereo. He just put this new one in on Saturday (got the cheapest one he could find), and they took it from him 4 days later. The other two had very nice head units. In the past year, we've been hit at least 6 times that I can think of.
Just sucks is all.

I work near Love Field. Mockingbird/Harry Hines/Inwood area. Not the safest place. We're talking about getting a security camera installed, but I'm not sure it would really help. In order to be worth anything, it would have to be monitored, and we're a small company.
The building sucks, too. The side of the building near the parking lot is almost completely brick, except for two windowed doors that no one sits near. Two other sides of our lot are bricked in and covered and backs up to a creek, and the fourth side faces a small street. We're sitting ducks.
Pay is $50 a day, plus the joy of paintballing the hell out of a sh*tball thief. We'll provide the lawn chair and paintballs

I also work in that area, and cars in our parking lot are always being broken into. I park my car behind our office building where the smokers hang out for their hourly smoke breaks. We have a lot of people cutting through our parking lot all through out the day because it's sort of a short cut I guess to McDonalds, Sonic, Chevron, etc.... Plus all of the hotels over there (the stemmons area) are nothing more than fronts for drug dealers and prostitutes. It's amazing what our rooftop security cameras can pickup.

So it happened again today.
Same guy that was hit a few months ago, and then just a couple of weeks ago, was busted into again right after lunch. There were 4 hispanic males, age 16-20. One of my coworkers came back from lunch and saw them. They jumped a brick wall and got into some red Mazda. They busted the window and detached the guy's faceplate, but didn't take anything.
Job offer still stands.

what you need is a mobile security system. cameras covering the parkinglot, but they need to be high resolution so you can see licesnse and get ID's/ i would take up the sniper position but i work all day.
