Anyone in the Dallas area?
I'm looking for a place to get my windows tinted here in the Dallas area, but I have no idea where to go. Obviously I'd prefer not to just randomly pick someone out of the phone book and hope they do a decent job.
I thought about going to a Mitsubishi dealer to see if they'd do it, but there are only 4 in the local Dallas area that I know of and I don't trust any of them at all -- they tried to screw me over when I was originally looking at buying a Ralliart, so I ended up going all the way to Longview (East Texas) to buy my car; but it was worth it!
So if anyone out there can help a girl out and give some recommendations on window tinting places, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Kelly

Thanks for the info. I searched the Yellow Pages for TriTek and came up with two results:
Tritek Window Tinting
(972) 926-5666 2518 W Kingsley Rd
Garland, TX
Tritek Auto Accessories
(972) 671-9633 516 W Arapaho Rd # 108
Richardson, TX
I'm assuming you were referring to the second one, the one at 516 W Arapaho Rd # 108? I'll probably try to give them a call sometime in the next couple days.
Someone in the office next door to me suggested a place called Moon Shadow (somewhere in Garland I think) - it's not from their personal experience, but they saw the place on the way home from work. Heard of this place? I haven't.... I tend to stay in the North Dallas area. Garland kinda scares me. :P

Well, that's three places to choose from so far... TriTek, Moonshadow, and Custom Stereo. We're making progress here, hehe. It's probably not a coincidence that these places are in or near Plano. The more south you go in Dallas, the crappier everything is.
I've learned the hard way.I live in The Village in University Park right now and I am SO ready to move. I moved to the area from Plano back in July and have regretted it ever since (and it's only been 6-7 months). The crime rate is horrible and I'm surprised my car hasn't been broken into yet... no garage and no covered parking where I'm at. But I'm moving back to North Dallas in the next month or so... the apartment I'm looking at has a garage so I'm hella excited.
A room for my baby!! Anyway, back to the subject. I appreciate all the suggestions guys, keep them coming!
Weird. I just tried calling the number for the Custom Stereo store in Plano (found it on their web site and the Yellow Pages too) and it says it's disconnected. OK, so then I tried the number for their North Dallas store on Preston and that number is disconnected too. What gives? *sniffle*
Tritek will do the tint for $149 which has a 3 year warranty or $169 with a 5 year warranty or $249 for a lifetime warranty.
I haven't called Moonshadow yet. That's next on my list. Phone calls are hard work. I need a nap. hehe.

Just kidding. I'll probably drop a line to that forum as well.
I know its far but the place is awesome...Glacier in Arlington. $100 bucks(I had to deal with him a little). I have been there twice (once for my car and once for my wife) I have a 1 or 2 yr warranty...very nice and do a good job
Talk with Alan. I forget what his company name is, but He did the window tinting at custom stereo prior to them closing. His number is: 972.679.8467
Depending on his work load, quite often he will come to your garage to do the work.

Solar Tech on Plano Parkway right off 75.

They did a great job on my 350Z. I had my Evo done when I bought it (and I didn't get it without lube).

how can you tell if you got it without lube or not?
mine were tinted via the tint factory back in michigan and on my passenger side front window it looks like there are water spots, only you cannot get rid of them inside or out. only noticeable under the right lighting conditions though...
