June 25th Hill Country Drive

Still in the planning stages, but looking like we may start at the HEB on the corner of Volente and 620 (probably with a goal of being on the road by 10 am), take Volente/Lime Creek Road up to 1431 and then 1431 on out to Llano. Lunch at Cooper's BBQ. Anyone that is interested, please let me know.

I'd love to go...can't beat a drive through the Hill Country, but I'm fishing in a tournament that weekend in Port O'Connor.

Actually, if you want to go to Llano, it may be better to start in Oak Hill or Lakeway and head up 71. BTW, Cooper's isn't all that great...at all. How about a drive around Wimberly, 1826, and eat at the Salt Lick?

I would also add that 1431 has been pretty heavily patrolled as of late.

If you want to stay more north, I'd recommend Opie's in Spicewood. Awesome food and they love to see groups of sports cars show up. Very friendly folk.

I helped with a drive for some 350Z folk a couple of weeks ago that was really fun. So, I am up for another one soon. That will be my last chance to go for a while too.

I'm always game for trying a new bbq place. I"ll run the suggestions by the group at work and see if they are willing to change up.

Raven,

I'd recommend not posting the route on the internet. I don't know of any specific cases of it causing problems. I just usually prefer the better safe than sorry path.

Just my 2 pennies.

If I am not working I'll be there.

What's the proposed time for meeting up?

Is this open to all sports cars or just Evos?

I can invite the Z, S2k, and Elise folk. The G35 guys are doing a drive Sunday but it looks to be shorter and early.

I hope that's not true because 2-3 of us are thinking about driving down from DFW. It doesn't take much of an excuse for me to drive to the Hill Country!

I was thinking of suggesting a serious drive for Sunday AM comparing everyone's favorite backroads.
Mine is North on #335 and South on #336.
Any takers?????

All cars are welcome. The folks I usually drive with are a mixture of Supra's, 350z's and Sti's.

We want to try to get on the road at 10:00, but we'll hang out for a few minutes to make sure everyone is there.

Devo,

335 and 336 are not for the faint hearted when it comes to the front lip of the car.

The Z drive I mentioned earlier went along those roads and the front of the car scraped on those dips a couple of times.

I'll post to the other boards, not sure if anyone will show on such short notice.

Raven,

Just to confirm:

Where: HEB @ corner of FM620 and Volente
When: roll out at 10am

If anyone has FRS radios, please bring them.

Looks like the Elise folk might be headed to Luckenbach for Rod, Custom and classic car show. http://www.rockincarshow.com/
