Can We Rent Texas Motor Speedway?

I went to a Lone Star Corvette Club meeting at Texas Motor Speedway where they had a TON of Vette's and we got to run laps around the oval, then they also had the infield track open to run thru some turns...it was a blast.

Could we do something like that for Evo's (and STI's if necessary to get enough people)? How do you get something like that put together?

Im sure you can. I would call their center and ask for a party info. Im sure its expensive. But if there are alot of evos then it could possibly be done.

Did you take your car out on to the track? If so how fast did you get up to? I want to do this if we generate enough interest.

I belive the infield road course costs 3k a day. And that's if you're out of there before dark AND you have a massive insurance policy already.

That's what our SCCA Autocross region pays. The "Bus Lot" is also very expensive.

You're best bet is to just come out to the next autocross there. Which unfortunately, is not going to be until next year.

I ran my dad's C5 Vette around the oval track...amazingly, I only got up to about 130 on the straights and only about 70 or 80 thru the turns (no passing). The infield course is a blast!

IF the infield course is $3,000, and we had 60 people show, that'd be a blast of a day for $50/head.

Dridge-
You ought to come out to MSR one day, it is significantly cheaper and what a blast! There are a couple of members here on the forum and I know they would love to introduce you to hot laps at the ranch.

Sure, I'd love to do that. Let me know when. I've never really done a road course before.

Do I need anything besides a car and some gas?

Racing suits and helmets are available for rent at the track (~$20/day), and a burning desire to go fast! I'll let you know the next time we go out there.

When you have the burning desire, you will know it. Because you will feel it, deep, deep down inside your pants.

Here is what I got:

Thanks for your inquiry. The oval would rent for $7,500/day plus
services, approximately $9,200.00, and the infield Road Course would
rent for $2,000/day plus services or approximately $3,700.00. We do
require a 5 million dollar general liability policy as well. Please
call our office if you would like to discuss an event further. Thanks

So, for the infield track, we just need 37 people with $100 and we're golden. Oh, and if someone could bring a $5million insurance policy, that'd be great too.

Or if you are really rich like some people I know, you can just rent the track all by yourself and have a blast....now wouldnt that be a dream come true?
