Looking for AutoX in Central Texas
I would just go ahead and register. Travis is the one who decides your class anyway. NSS (Novice Super Stock) I think. If they need to change it, they can do it later. Don't worry about being nervous, I will show ya the ropes and walk you through everything. It is not a big deal. And the real key to autox is walking the course before the runs. Also, keep in mind, enter slow, exit fast. I will bring the digi-camcorder to get a few sample movies. I think you will be hooked. You will enjoy it!

I remembered the chairs as we were turning onto Burnet from 2222. I was too lazy to go back at that point. Maybe they'll prove useful at the AutoX.
What other kinds of cars are in AS? It looks like nobody else is in there right now. Not that it really matters since I'm in the novice group I guess. The closest that I see to AS is a Corvette in ASP... but I don't know if AS -> ASP?

AS
Welp, in AS there are cars like C4 vettes, Boxster S, and 968s. But I can't think of any in the spokes group. However, you are running in Novice class, which means, you run against all of the other novices. No matter the stock class. There is a catch, everyone in Novice/Tire/Xtra classes use a handicap system we call PAX. SS (usually the fastest cars) gets the worst handicap while HS (usually the slowest) gets the best PAX value. I think AS is like .89 or something. You take your raw time and multiply it by your PAX to get you new Novice class time. This way the Civic and Neon guys have a chance against the Z06s. It really comes down to driver against driver this way. In Spoke's Novice class you are not alowed to use race tires and you can not compete in Novice class more than three events. This gives the new guys a chance to trophy.

I'm sure the drivers at Regionals can't be that skilled.
I'm not looking for trophies, just looking for some fun, safe driving.
Plus if any other Evos show up, that changes the chances for a trophy anywyas. I wonder if AustinEvo8 will show?

Good driving out there today, man! That 39.xxx was impressive, but too bad you picked up a couple cones. MY best was 44.185
I'll just blame it on my crappy, crappy tires
Looking at the results, you would have done MUCH better had you not taken out all those cones
Your times were awesome!

I was disappointed with how many cones I hit, but I also wanted to put the hammer down too!
14 cones in 4 heats is pretty high.
And that second run, which was 39 I think, had me showboating down in the 180 at the end. In the video I'm going "Wheeeeee" out loud.
If you were on RE92 then sure, blame it on the tires!
But your time doesn't sound that bad, at least you didn't hit any cones.

If you stuck around for my 4th run, you would have seen my almost sliding off the course
I felt the car start to slide, and just stomped on the brake and actually had time to think "oooh, craaaaaaap!" Luckily I didn't go off, and was not DNF'd
But it did cost me 2 seconds on that run. Not bad for our first times, eh?
