Dallas autox 4/02- NTEC interest?
Hey NTEC folks,
There is an autocross (DFW metroplex area) this Sunday, 4/02 at Pennington Field stadium parking lot. Any NTEC Evos interested in some safe racing against the clock? There are always several STIs present. It would be good to have some more Evos. Cost is $30. If you don't want to race, maybe just come out and have an NTEC get-together around 10am. The concession stand at the stadium will be open for food/beverages. Here's the schedule:
All times are Approximate
Registration & Tech 7:30AM-8:30AM
Novice Walk-Thru 8:40AM
Drivers Meeting 9:00AM
First Heat Cars to Grid 9:15AM
First Runs Start 9:30AM
Trophies at conclusion of runs
Loaner helmets are available at no cost. If you're going to race, you'll want to increase your tire pressures to Front-38, Rear-43 before arriving. I'll have some 2" blue painter's tape to use for numbers/class letters (AS, STU, BSP, SM - depending on mods) if you need it. I can help figure your class out, if you don't know. There is also a street tire class (T, followed my the class your mods put you in, ie. TBSP) for everyone on their daily driver tires. A (PAX) index is used to normalize the times so all classes can compete fairly against each other within the T class.
Remember Daylight savings time changes this weekend. Set your clocks forward an hour to get to the event on time. Pennington Field is at the intersection of Hwy 121 and 183. At that intersection is the Central Dr. exit. Take the exit and go 2 blocks south. The Stadium is on your right.

I'll be there in the Don Herring Mitsubishi silver/red Evo around 7am to start getting the car ready. Hope to see some fellow Evo enthusiasts there!

Thanks to everyone who came out to watch yesterday. I'm currently working with the SCCA Board to see if it's possible to post Run/Work Order on the website a couple of days before the event for the future.
Monkey was able to do a couple of ride-alongs in the car and gave me some lessons on how to conservatively launch the Evo. I only managed to get it right on the last run, but it resulted in a #1 Pax run of the day. The only faster raw times were from a 125cc shifter kart and a couple of B-Mod racers so it was a good day.
