DFW Exhaust Question
Here is my situation...I bought a used Vishnu Signature off Ebay for $300 (killer deal). The guy that sold it said it came off his Evo, but he was running a different engine/turbo so the downpipe probably would not work. (Don't worry, he disclosed this up front, so I knew what I was getting into)
So, Ethan and I installed the cat-back portion, and I have a HFC and test pipe and an unuseable downpipe. This setup uses the V-band clamps, so I need a downpipe to finish the full turbo-back exhaust. Vishnu only sells the downpipe in a set along with the test pipe and HFC, which I don't need. I was thinking about getting a RnR or Megan downpipe that will fit an 05, have a shop cut off the connector deal and weld the v-band connector on there instead. I'm just concerned with any issues with the fit and connection trying to put on a non-Vishnu downpipe and making it work.
Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions?

I had a Megan Downpipe connected to an Ultimate Racing test pipe.. connected to an APS cat-back on my 2005' EVO. The Megan Racing downpipe came into contact with my transfer case and rubbed and caused problems. (ecu read it as false knock) I would not suggest a Megan Racing downpipe with other brand components. Megan Racing has since changed their website from "fits 03-05" to "fits 03-04." You may be able to get around this by doing your custom fabrication work though. I've got a Megan Racing downpipe just sitting in my garage though. heh
just my 2c.

Well, I found a guy that will sell me a Vishnu signature downpipe and the HFC that came with it for around $350.
Amazingly stupid question, but I'm at work and don't feel like diggng thru EvoM to find it. They didn't make the MR before 2005, did they? That's what it came off of, so I want to make sure the fit on mine won't be a problem.
