Evo tuners in the SA/Austin area???

Just like the thread says.... Any competent tuners/shops in the area?? I have parts in my garage just collecting dust (i.e. cams, fuel pump, IC piping, intercooler...etc), I can't really install them yet because without a tune, it would be useless. I have been waiting for a custom flash for a while, but things havent turned out the way I have planned the last 2 times...
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Peace

-Ray

Please contact Zeus and see if he has time to install that stuff for you. I know I can help you with all of it except the cams. I installed mine, but I don't wanna do it again.

Order some ARP head studs while you are at it. That should go in while you are installing your cams.

Ray,

If it was me I would take my car to either William (Precision R) or Zeus. Both have a lot of experience installing cams in EVO's. As far as the tune goes I would take your car up to MZM after you get the cams installed. They have a lot of experience tuning EVO's and I have seen a lot of strong running cars come out of there shop. You can drive the car before you get tuned after the cam install. I would just stay out of boost until you get tuned. If you need help installing all the small stuff shoot me a PM. I would be more than happy to give you a hand. We could also do a boost leak test on your car after the cam install before you get tuned. I feel that is almost a must to ensure you get the best tune. Nothing worse than wasting money on a tune when you have a huge boost leak.

+1

All of the intercooler stuff and the fuel pump aren't that difficult if you have time. You can drive your car untuned with cams and all of those other mods, but I woudn't go wot or get into boost too hard. Alot of people I know that have installed cams have driven a week, or 4+ hours with them in to go get tuned without any problems. Good luck and enjoy your new toys.

MZM is in Austin... I think there is a guy with a shop in SA that can do em too. He owns a blue Evo. He did my friends 2G 420A turbo build. I will try to find that out.

I drove my car for several weeks before I got tuned. Even worse, I was 1 tooth off on both cams when they where installed. I have now put another 25k miles on my car since then (and corrected the timing). In fact, you where there when my car was still off on timing at San Antonio raceway last January. I ran 12.5 - 12.6s that night.

Just be patient with the installs and PM or post us if you get stuck on something.

if you're gonna get the cams installed, may as well have someone here in ATX do it for you and avoid the drive.. zeus or mzm...

I cant Say enough about MZM and thier service! All those guys r really great and yes they r in austin. Zeus is a good way to go for the install but he doesnt do tuning, he doesnt have a "shop" he works outa his garage but dont let that discourage u, he is a mod on here and very well known around here as a mechanic, vendor, and a asset to the evo community. I talk to him all the time and his knowledge is right on the money and he is a very VERY VERY PRECISE person ** he knows why iam saying this***MZM and Zeus can both do the install (of course), but Zeus is cheaper. Zeus is the THE MAN, then for tuning Mohammad @ MZM is the MAN!!! They do EcuTek tuning and i highly reccommend it! pm me for more info or if u need a hand with the install's that u will be doing yourself. I have done all the installs on my car myself. I would offer to help with cams but u need a 100$ tool just to do it and its a pain.. so it pays to just have it installed professionally.
