Possible oil over fill??

I just changed my oil at the 1000 mile mark yesterday and the sears computer said 5.4 quarts. I was a bit shocked so I called two shops one said right under 5 and a mitsu dealer said 4.5?? I went ahead and had them do it at about 5 quarts but when I checked the stick it read a little under full so I added another half quart.

What is the exact amount of oil for a hot oil change on these cars?

Should i let some out?

1- Alittle under 5 quarts

2- Check the dipstick and see where your at, If you have too much let some out.

Read your owners manual. There should be 2 numbers - with filter and without filter.

Yes you definitely should. It should take just under five quarts with the filter included.
