Does anybody have experience with Kingpin(Texas) that could answer some questions?

Hello, I was wondering if any of the members here had any experience specifically with Kingpin in Dallas, Texas. If you have, could you please answer a couple questions:

-What parts did you have installed/tuned for?
-Were you pleased with the service you recieved/quality of workmanship?
-How were you treated, was the customer service good?
-Will you go back?
-Would you recommend them to me?

Thank you for the time and an extra thanks to those who took time respond . Stay safe and have a great day.

I have been a customer of Kingpinperformance in Phoenix before they moved to Texas.

These guys are well into modifications of the cars, with that I mean opening the engine to put strokers or block and they also specialize on doing conversions of WRX to STI tranny , suspension and brakes.

It is undeniable they can work on the major system in the car as they have been doing that for a while in a lot of cars HOWEVER they are more experienced on STI/WRX than Evos.

Mike (the owner) has offered me competitive rates in the past. The only notorious downside I have seen about them was the housekeeping on their officce/shop other than that I say they are very capable of doing whatever on your car.

First off Hi Carlos. Long time no talk.
Second, Kingpin has made some major changed recently get things going a lot more smooth. I will be doing the tuning for them from now on and believe me and I am sure a lot of people on this forum can tell you, I have done ALOT of evo tuning. I will be doing a lot of the tuning for both shops. The Dallas shop is new but, can take care of any of your installation needs, and I can handle the tuning. So give them a shot I can assure you that it will be a good experience.
Thanks

If you go there, make you you talk to Adam or Mike (and now Mitch I guess). If you don't talk to one of them, you're pretty much wasting your time. Either one of those 2 guys can help you out and are very friendly, the other guys are very good at installing parts...let them install parts. My car is going in as soon as the dyno is put in, they will be putting alcohol injection on and also EcuTek flashing me. After that, a few months later the plan is to have them put the TurboTrix 50-trim kit on and re-tune me for that. My first impression was not the best, but Adam and Mike made up for it and I'll definately take my car down to them to see what they can do.

Hi Mitch, nice to hear from you also. I consider your tuning skills very valuable for the community and I am here to reiterate that any shop will be more sucessfull when they count with your service.

Not only you showed me in the past that your customer service was topnotch but also you showed willingness to help with various issues.

I wish you luck with Kingpin on their new location. Is Clark still under Kingpin paycheck? Somemone from this forum stationed in Germany with a Evo asked me some feedback about you and I gave them good inputs.

I hope to see you on the next coming weekend MEGA Evo/STI meeting in Phoenix.
Take care my friend.

Carlos

Hey Carlos. Yes I would like to help the guys in Germany out and I will for sure if I can. No Clark is not with Kingpin anymore, and I really am freelance helping them out if they need it. I will be there for the meet and I think that it will be a good time.
I appreciate all of the good words Carlos and I hope to see you soon.
Thanks

It used to be Subaru Of Dallas' make ready facility...a couple of blocks away from the main store on Lemmon. Just take Lemmon over to Inwood and head south a couple of blocks...they are on the right.

I have stoped by a lot to check out the place and get a feel for them and their work. They are very thorough and organized when working on a car. They don't just try to slap it up and rig it to work. They will go the extra mile to make sure everything is in perfect working order. I know they have done this with the EVO getting the turbotrix 50trim kit on it right now. They may take a little longer then expected but that is the sacrifice for getting it done right the first time rather then 3rd or 4th. I will definently be taking my car there and speaking to Adam. He is always willing to take time out of a project to answer my stupid questions and help me out.

+1 for kingpin

My car is there right now getting a 50trim and a couple other things installed . So far they have been very polite and great at keeping me updated. We've had a couple slight snags, but they seemed to work though them with no problem. They even made a patch harness for my PLX wideband/egt device. I wanted to avoid splicing into my stock harness at all costs, so that was a huge plus for me. I told them when I dropped off the car that I'm in no hurry to get it back and I'm glad they aren't trying to rush things.

Hey guys, stay away from this vendor if you value your car or money. All I can say is that if you do choose to do business with them and something goes wrong, don't come on here to ***** and complain about it because I will be the first to say "I told ya so"! You have been warned. Read the below link & start around page 40. This is how he runs his business.
