Mitsu wants to buy back my Evo??

Wondering if anyone else has received this letter from their dealership. The letter states that they "need to acquire several pre-owned Mitsu's by Aug 31 in order to satisfy increased market demand."

Is it me or is this weird? A dealership wants to buy a pre-owned Evo IX to sell it to another customer? Why? My guess is they'll get a satisfied customer and sell me a new car in the process. Might be wrong, but I think its still weird.

Dude, it's called a " Sales tactic" dealerships have been doing that for years.

They want you to get a new one. So they'll feed you a bunch of BS saying "they need your used car" just so you would spend your money on a new one. I get those all the time for my Eclipse.

Cool, thanks. Just never happened to me before and I've never heard of it.

That crossed my mind, but its been modded and I doubt they'll even give me a deal since its not under warranty. Not that I want to sell it, just thinking of possibilities.

It never hurts to go there and check things out -- just don't expect too much.

Be prepared to walk away.

I emailed them and asked them to get a new one and they never responded. LOL.
