Wow I thought California had some tough fines for dumb crap. Over here its just a $10 fix-it ticket. Put the thing back on, have an officer sign it off saying you complied and have indeed re-installed the plate. Pay $10 processing fee and thats it..

In Austin you can't get it dismissed. I'm sure I could've contested it but to be honest, I really have more important things to do with my time than go downtown.
