Since WTB ads seem to be not allowed in the regional sections, is there a regional for sale/WTB section where I can start a thread?

You can only post that in the WTB section and it looks like your trying to get a round the rules because you dont' have 50 posts yet.

Ah, I didn't realize there was a post minimum. It doesn't really make sense to filter local WTB threads though. How am I going to scam someone I give money to and possibly meet in person?

I see quite a few active FS or WTB threads in this sections though...

i think the mods are being ******* today here in the south forum. i posted a thread trying to gauge interest in starting a tuning service and they deleted that. i wasn't even offering anything. would the mod deleting everything please care to explain?

and your WTB thread has never been a problem before marc. people have always posted them in the south forum, as well as WTS ads. thus for the reason i'm calling the mod deleting the posts a ****** for not giving me an explaination of why my post was deleted.

You thinking about traveling a bit to tune in other cities? Let's buy some scales and call it a day. I need to get my car off the jackstands first though....

no, gonna keep it local for now. the 9-5 job pays better and has insurance i figure the tuning will be a good jump start to getting scales and other expensive equipment. i'll talk to you about it later offline.

Since there seem to be a few questions here, I can attempt to explain. I was the Moderator that trashed the WTB thread. It is as the other member said, you do not have the minimum posts to do that in the Marketplace. The link to the rules is here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/announcement.php?f=69
And KevinD, I did not delete your thread, although it seemed to some as a non-vendor plug, so possibly that is why it was deleted. I cannot possibly send a PM to every member whose thread I delete/move. There are simply not enough hours in the day to do that. For most Evolving/Evolved members, I try to send a PM as a courtesy and let them fix the problem. And some may notice that all remaining active FS/WTB threads have a LINK to the Marketplace. This is the way to sell/buy something in the regional forums. I don't want to be a ******, but there are too many people being scammed by FS ads on this site. That is why there is a general crackdown in the Regionals and in all other areas of EvoM. The Moderators are not trying to ruin anybody's fun, we are really trying to look out for the EvoM community and make sure EVERYONE has an enjoyable and safe experience on these forums. Please feel free to PM me with any thoughts or concerns. I am here to help.

I just don't understand why a local WTB ad is forbidden... I'm the one wanting to PAY. I suggest making trader sub-sections for each regional forum inorder for locals to buy and sell easier between eachother.

finally an explaination.

i wish the mod who did delete mine gave an explaination. i could have made the corrections as needed. my post was a post to gauge interest to see if it is worth my time to gain vendor status, and become a "Valid" local tuner per evom.nets definition (i.e. i give you money, you let me post). sense i already work on many of the NTEC members cars, i'm not doing anything differently, just trying to see if people are interested in other services locally.

p.s. on a side note, could we get a sticky in the south forum titled "DFW happenings"

where we can post in one thread whats going on? it is a PITA to read through multiple posts of the same event.

low psi, I posed a question in the Mod section to address your concern. Give it a bit before a consensus is reached. KevinD, It would be exceedingly difficult to make stickies for the various metro areas. There would be 50-100 per Region, and everybody would want their city in there. The Milwaukee people have a thread of their own (not sticky), but is it very active and almost always the first in the section. I suggest you create a DFW Happenings thread and see how it does.

Thanks! Nasioc has regional trader sections and it seems to work well. I know it wouldn't be too hard to add them, but it'd double the size of the regional forums and just give you more sections to mod.

I'll just have to be a little more active and wait for my post count to increase

low psi, as promised, I posted this question in the Mod Forum. It was overwhelmingly against any changes to the current policy. Cited was the example of a member of the Northeast Regionals who took our members for thousands of dollars using 'local' FS/WTB ad's. The consensus was that 50 on-topic posts was not too hard to attain, and then you could post in the 'marketplace' FS/WTB section. The owners of this site do not want to see bad things happen to our members, and this is a safeguard to hopefully prevent that. It is not perfect, but it is what we have now. We are always reviewing this sort of thing, so I hope you stick with us and believe we are really trying to do the right thing here.

I buy/sell with confidence on evom from other "evolving, evolved" members due to the 50 post minimum. Seeing someone here on the message boards day after day gives them credibility I think. I like the rule, I think it's a good thing. Pay your dues, then post your WTB/WTS threads with reckless abandon. I'm not saying people won't still get taken, it just lessens the odds.
