Jestr requires 5 people minimum per his website, but he's going to be the decision maker on that. If we have less than 8-9 people, it would probably be cheaper to pay for the dyno on a per hour basis instead of splitting the $1400 plus tax fee to rent it for the full day. These are things we'll need to consider as the list gets closer to being finalized, thanks for bringing the question up.

dynoflash has a 2 hr slot for people who are wanting to tune their cars, i'm not trying to say jestr is bad in any way but i dont get why you spend 350+ dollars for an hr to tune your car.

That's a valid concern, but if the end result is the same would that be worth it?

If your car is setup correctly and there are no problems with it, then it shouldn't take more than 1 hour to tune your car with basic mods. Obviously the more complex the setup the longer it will take to tune.

Can you tune an STI? My STI has a crap load of mods and needs major tuning. TopSpeed got 616whp on their dyno at one point, but the EMS was removed so it's like starting over. Currently car has around 450whp and has poor gas mileage. I've got some okay maps, but seems like something is holding this car back.

It's got Crawford S3L motor, GT 35r turbo, SMC meth injection, PE 850 injectors. Currently I have a ECUTEK/UTEC combo, but thinking of going to full standalone.

You're not just paying for that 1 hr., you're also having to pay for airfare and hotel associated with getting the tuner to your area. I think it's a good bargain. I've never met Al, or have I had his tune, but there has been negative feedback on evom about peoples experiences with Al on both his tunes and his attitude.

Here's a thread on Jestr tuning. Ultimately it's your decision whether it's worth it to you. For me, it's definitely worth it.

He needs to read my review: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=237375 Esp. the part about "compared to other tuners", because it really seems to be a night and day difference. In less time he'll have the ECU working harmoniously with the car. Not fighting itself!

Oops! just realized you had already posted my review! -Zeus-

I've seen firsthand what Jestr is capable of; none of you guys will be disappointed with your tune as long as your cars are at 100%. I'm anxious to have Jestr coming back out here to the NW so I can finish up my car. Jestr and only Jestr will ever lay finger on my tune.

Any skeptics, feel free to PM me about horrible tunes by a certain tuner that I've seen with my own eyes that Jestr has done a 180 on. He's transformed mediocre cars into street beasts with just his tune.

For you guys getting a custom tune, do a boost leak test, make sure all hoses are on tight, and get new plugs for your cars BEFORE your tune. If you're close to needing an oil change, tranny, TC, and rear diff fluid change, do those as well. Making sure everything is working well will decrease the time spent on the dyno with better results. Trying to tune a car that's limping for 5 hours is futile when 30 minutes is all that would've taken to produce more power without all the headaches.

Good stuff, I'd forgot to mention that. Also, Do not show up to the tune date with your undertray on, or have someone/yourself take it off at least 30mins PRIOR to your allotted time!!!!!!!

There will be absolutely NO time to do that on the dyno, and it is the responsibility of the owner!! There are too many reasons to list, but mainly for tie down, and quick access to your intercooler piping in case for some reason you blow a hose.

I'd further suggest that anyone not doing so lose their slot!!!

People have to remember, once your car gets taken off, it's not going back on without another dyno fee and that's IF there's enough time for your car to have another go.

Tighten down all clamps as well. We had one car blow a coupling on his upper IC pipe during our Jestr custom tune session but luckily we got it back on in under 5 minutes.

Good luck to you guys and have fun with your new found power.

whats your problem??

If you're a fanboy with w/ dynoflash, check your "knocking flash"!

It shows no knock in 4th which is getting into higher load columns? Could this be a typo on my map? Should I just change it to an 8 in that column. New to the logging and tuning which is why I let Al tune the car, thats the only knock anywhere and for the instant before pulling timing at shows 26 knock counts then timing goes to -8 degrees. Any suggestions, Al, otherwise all is well?
