Suggestions Finding a Daily Driver

As the Evo gets more mods and spring hail season approaches, I'm keep thinking about getting a daily driver. I get my bonus at the end of the month and am considering getting something cheap to drive around to/from work (3 miles) and around town, valet parking, etc, that I won't worry as much about.

Wanting to stay under $2,000. $1,500 would be better.

Just looking for ideas on where to look and what to look for. Maybe some of you have something available, a family member or friend with something to consider. Been checking autotrader, a little ebay, and don't worry Don, I keep an eye on the DH Mitsu used cars as well.

Other suggestions, advice, or leads appreciated.

its hard to find something that isnt so boring after getting out of the EVO that you find yourself never driving the "daily driver" except for the vulnerability factor- I love the Miata experience. Its more money, but u wont lose any depreciation to speak of.

I know it will be boring, but it will be comforting knowing that a 1995 Buick is parked on Greenville rather than my gleaming silver Evo. If some drunk bumps against it and his keys scratch the paint, no big deal. I won't sweat the hailstorms either.

I guess I'm backwards or something, I use my Evo as my daily, and my Civic as my Race/Show Car...

I guess I'd recommend a Civic or some kind of Honda for your daily driver. Most get great gas mileage, and if repairs are needed, they're generally inexpensive to fix. Just my thoughts..

Well, I have messages out on 3 cars....one 91 Integra and two 91 Accords.

Locals, keep your eyes peeled for me if you see anything that might fit the bill.

That's what I do, the acceleration can become very addictive!

Thanks for thinking of me! Unfortunately we don't stock many cars in that price range. But I'll keep an eye out if something nice gets traded in.

I had considered a bike, but when it's raining (hail possible) is when I DON'T want the Evo outdoors.
