Fun Roads in Texas
Fun Roads in Texas
Has anyone ever seen a directory of fun roads to drive for Texas? I have always wanted to drive in the dirt (not off road) and today I got the chance...
Maybe other people can share routes with details of why you like it.
County Road 196
This is a dirt/gravel road. Some spots are gravel and pretty much force you to drive <20. Other spots are nice and slick (from all the recent rain). In fact, there are a few spots you better get a running start or you will get stuck (when it's wet)! There are two wooden bridges (Dukes of Hazard style).
FM-153
This one is paved (mostly new) with nice variation in banked curves and elevation changes. The highlight of the drive is the double turn at "River Bend Rd," where they don't even lower the PSL.
I'd love to hear of other fun routes you guys like to drive your Evo.

Yeah, there are tons but this is not the time to drive them hah.
Freeman Ranch Rd in San Marcos isn't gravel but a lot of fun.
Cow Creek Rd also not gravel is a blast.. I'm sure its about 15 ft. underwater for the next while, however.
Come out to the Spokes RallyX on Saturday if you're looking for playing in the dirt. It might be rained out (again) but if not, it will be Saturday AM. More details at www.spokes.org
As of now, course is looking ok but if we get rain on Friday, probly won't happen.

Since you're in NYC, Blue Evo 8, try a trip down to Montgomery Co Maryland. I used to go riding with the Mid-Atlantic Ducati club on some of the most fantastic roads in the country there...
