We decided to go up to Talimena on Saturday August 18th. We will leave from the Dallas area at 8:00 am and be back around midnight. I will edit the first post and keep a list of all the names that will be attending. Please arrive prepared for the day (ex: full tank of gas, cash for whatever reason, checked tire pressure, full stomach, etc.) as we will want to maximize our time on the road. If you have two-way radios, please bring them. Additional items that might be helpful: full size spare, flashlights, maps, snacks, bottled water. After the list is set, I will give you all my cell phone number so we can keep in contact. This is going to be a fun event with some really good roads!
If you guys want some nice twisties... go I 10 north through kerrville on Hwy 16 and there's corkscrews identical to Laguna Seca... bad *** turns everywhere, then hit up 335, 336, and 337 near leakey, tx... I'm sure of it that this route will out do any route in the Texas Hill Country.

My friend Paulie and I did this drive from Oklahoma into Arkansas last year. Had the wife crying before it was over. Cool thing abou tht eroads are that they are very technical and you dont haveto go terribly fast to get rush just doing the speed limit gets hairy.
The trip info is in post number 19. Here is the link to the area:

No interest from the rest of NTEC? These roads are FAR better than any that we see around here. This will definitely be an awesome day in the mountains with plenty of photo opportunities! Take time to check out the link that ez posted earlier, notice that there are no businesses, homes, or side streets for 54 miles along a ridge of the Ouachita mountains.
Amen! Just a friendly reminder everyone...our cars were designed to be DRIVEN. Let's give all those Mitsubishi engineers the respect they deserve and really use these machines
