Talk me out of selling my Evo.
Talk me out of selling my Evo.
Over the past month or two, I've been considering selling my car. I almost bought a WS6 before I stumbled across the Evo, and lately I've been wanting one again.
The Evo sits in the garage about 5 days a week. I love to drive the car, but absolutely hate putting miles on it. I won't drive it to work because I'm afraid someone is going to steal it or break into it. I rarely drive it during daylight, 'cause I'm so **** about it sitting in the sun. I drive it like a grandma 99.5% of the time, never raced it on the freeway, and have only taken it to the track once for fun. I'm crazy obsessed with the car, and I really don't know why I want to get rid of it, but for some reason the idea won't get out of my head.
Upsides to the Evo... I know the car, can fix small issues myself. I've always had turbo cars (hence my name haha). And I love the car.
The WS6... It's something new, and something I've always liked. But, I wouldn't have the first clue on how to work on it, or anything about the car. And a TA isn't remotely as unique as an Evo. I see them everyday. I've always been one to have something that isn't common/overdone.

This car isn't for u then. please sell it so someone can have fun with it while still take good care of it.
well, I will say this, You Definately need to get out more! I guarantee you will love it even more than you described if you would be willing to drive it! Whether its at the strip, circuit (MSR), or twisties, you learn the limits of the car, and the TA will fade into the distance! Keep it and Drive it with us
Cars are bad investments. They are meant to be DRIVEN and enjoyed , not parked collecting dust. The fun of the Evo is far greater than the overall depreciation from added miles.
It's only a car, don't put it on a pedestal like it can't be replaced if something were to happen. Enjoy the car or buy something boring like a Camry.
And look at it from this perspective. You bought an EVO, not a Camry. You are NOT getting your moneys worth by driving it like a Camry...

A transam? over an Evo? Are you serious?
If you drive your Evo like you say you do (or dont... rather) buy a Camry or a Civic or another lowly daily driver...
I sold mine because I was tired of driving around in a rattly uncomfortable death box that could go really really REALLY fast. But don't think that means the Porsche doesn't get driven to its fullest. Next track day it'll be out there. Performance cars are meant to perform.

Meh, LS1>4G63 lmfao. I don't know if I would do a T/A, they look sick, but F bodies interiors are so cheap, like the plastics were made from melted down G.I. Joes. I say if your not to worried about people riding in the back of your car (of course you wouldn't be if you were considering a T/A
) I would consider a 1997-1999 C5 Corvette, or a Pontiac GTO. Both are a bit nicer car inside, and you still get the mighty LS engines.

Karen, just drive it more. Selling the Evo for a T/A would be absurd.
If you're single, date a guy with a T/A, then race him, beat him, and break up with him in the same night.
