I was just making a poke, since someone from austin made a poke in our thread. Most of the austin crew is cool. I will be heading up this saturday.

Years ago there was a Houston based evo forum, but it died out. 80% of the threads in the south region are from Texas though. If anything, there should be a Texas section...

It's hard to tell if you are joking Louie or if you just don't understand the english language . How can you rag on somone trying to save money when you decided to go with a discounted "new" turbo kit instead of something proven that costs more?

No one in Austin has an evo that comes close to other cities (myself included). Hell, the fastest evo here just upgraded to a 35r when AMS and everyone else was running them in 2004. Has anyone really put up the cash to make a fast evo in Austin?

The thing that I find the most interesting evo wise in Austin is that some people have the cars and just drive them. For example, the EB VIII that parks in the speedway garage. The owner has a "animal lover" plate and has removed the passenger seat so that their dog can travel with them. The interior is COVERED in yellow dog hair. It's weird to see an evo being used like an economy car.
Austin may not have the greatest car scene, but the potential is there, I don't know it just seems kinda like we all stick to our own i.e. evo's w/ evo's honda's w/ honda's, and of course it's always supra's w/ supra's. If we got somthing worth while organized I imagine the turnout would be pretty good. I think Dallas would be a pretty good model to follow, they seem to have there **** pretty straight up there.

I'd agree that the cars here in SA/Austin and Texas in general don't really compare with what's out there in say California and other places that actually have a cemented "scene".

Then again, we don't have to worry about our cars getting impounded and crushed just for sitting on the sidelines when 2 guys streak by in Honda ****boxes.

I knew Austin was liberal, but c'mon guys--don't get your panties in a bunch! We all own Evo's....can't we all just get along?!

If I was rich you Mr Loui, I wouldn't have to work overtime to maintain my habit!
You know I'd be out there if I didn't have to work every damn saturday night, this whole work thing is cutting in to my rec time! But seriously I'm close to being operational, if I knew what the hell I was doing w/ all these sensors and vacuum hoses it would be finished by now. Hopefully I'll be getting a job with the Austin fire dept next year, more time off and more $.

We can have a good constructive conversation without all the drama.
Hopefully you'll come by so, I an check out your uber fast Evo and you can check out my discounted mods on my Evo 9

MZM tune sure why not.......you can pay for my tune and I can pay for your tune, but I'm not too sure MZM would want to tune your Evo 8 I am very conifdent MZM can tune my Evo 9 or any other Evo's out there and they do have the fastest Evo in town. That there alone should tell you that MZM can tune and know what they are doing. Man, it is pretty evident you'r still hating on MZM and its been like 3 to 4 years,.......just let it go for the love of god!
Too easy.

Trust me, there have been plenty of meets with different kinds of cars. The Austin evos just go and hangout with eachother. Austin has its share of performance enthusiasts and cars, but most don't come out (for good reason). I think the best meets i've been to were during the hurricane evacuation in 2005. A bunch of Houston people came to town and the DS meet was hopping. Good times.

Are you a member of Afb or ls1tech by any chance?

Almost up, and I have been noticing about 4 or 5 evo's around town that I don't know. A guy named Johnny works down the street from me drives a white evo with carbon hood, and he said his brother drives an evo, but I gave up trying to get them to come around. I haven't seen the chick yet, is she hot?

Anyone interested in joining this cruise?
http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=310923
I enjoy (the drive to Austin via hwy 308 and various backroads) meeting and cruising the cool twisties of the hill country with EVOs and anyone else that loves driving.
