Hmm.. I might have to meet up with you guys. Not alot of VR-4s around (that run). Is the Austin crowd fairly active at meets/shows/dinners? I've been up to the 620/I-35 parking lot a few weekends.

I'm pretty sure they still meet up there, only reason I don't go is because I have to work every Saturday night.

Just introducing myself. I live in North ATX off of Parmer and own a 2003 TB EVO 8.
Its pretty much stock with exception of bolt ons. I have heard about the meet up north(a black guy who works where I work and drives a Turbo white MR2 tells me to come) but have never attended, and probably wont be attending(at least in the EVO) anytime soon. The EVO is going under the knife probably until the end of the year. But I will try to attend the meets when my "other" car is finished(should be really soon). Any 240sx owners attend those meets btw?? If not, anyone know where 240sx owners hang out at?

Oh yea, are there any reputable shops in Texas that build, work, and tune EVO's? I really dont want to ship my car to AMS or Buschur, unless its absolutely necessary. I have heard of MZM. Any other shops?

welcome..

welcome! I live off of palmer as well, I think they still meet up there. As far as tuning goes AMS is coming down for a tuning session towards the end of FEB I believe, there's a thread stickied to the top of the south region, and there's always KevenD, if you're car won't be ready in time. I got tuned by Ams and I'm very happy w/ the results. Too bad I'm clutchless right now but hopefully I'll be taking care of that soon. Welcome aboard.

What type of power you putting down? I'm going with a similar set-up, but gonna go with that new 2.2L GSC stroker. Also want to get it tuned for E85 only, down really want to fool with meth/alchy unless I have to.

hp

was making around 430whp on pump gas something like 660 on race at higher boost before an AMS tune and some other goodies, got a road tune so don't know my actual numbers, but it pulls much harder. My boost is relatively low at 20psi. Maybe I can give you a ride a long once my clutch is fixed. I feel you on not wanting alky or meth, if it was a dedicated race car that would be one thing, but I will be pretty much daily driving this car.

Yea, that ride along would be SWEET!! Who built your motor if you dont mind me asking? Do you know if Boost logic has any experience with EVO's? When do you see full boost by? Sorry if I am asking alot of questions, just trying to get a good idea of things before I start my build.

Boostlogic does have some experience w/ Evo's, I have their Intercool and piping, I'll pm you later w/ my experience (i'm a work now). I have the AMS 2.3 stroker kit, and my engine was built by CFT (central florida tuning). As far as when I see full boost, I'm not sure because basically the same day my final setup was complete my clutch took a crap on me, I might be selling my rps clutch if you have any interest. On a side not there's a guy in my neiborhood w/ a 240 w/ an engine swap.
