there is a 1/4 track in gulfport, a 1/4 track in hattiesburg, and several 1/8th mile tracks throughout the state

 

^Yes, I have been there a couple of times. It's every Wednesday night, I believe. I have a co-worker with a white Evo IX running 9's on the drag strip... but so far he's been the only import that's been participating recently.

I'm too much of a worry-worm to run my ralliart... plus all stock won't be much of a contest.

edit: Writing about Gulfport Drag Strip, haven't been to the Hattiesburg one.

Yeah, im raising the Bull**** Flag. I know pretty much every Evo round here. Also had mine for over 5 years down here and am very much into the Racing scene.

 

i agree any evo runnin 9s has a reputation... look at mellon every knows bout his... as far as the track goes im gonna have to head down there and check it out im in starkville so it aint to far for me to drive... used to race at the memphis strip before it shut down... how many evo owners are actually in the state of ms?

 

not a whole lot man. there is kevin and chris up your way(they may know of a few more) chris is mellon and kevin has an FP black on an IX.

there are about 3 or 4 around here(jackson area) only one of which is worth talking about 6262,s2's, built longblock, e85 etc etc

then there are a few down on the coast. rocky, stock evo (evo24psi), would know more about them.


you need to ask around up there. there is supposed to be a track in starkville that just opened. or is opening or something like that

yea the track that opened here is just an 1/8 mile though i prefer 1/4 mile but i guess i have to live with wat i got available... i will be headin towards the coast in the summer gonna let it warm up a lil bit ill def. hit yall up we can do a meet and greet or something... im jus glad to know that im no longer the only guy around with an evo sorta gets lonely amongst a crowd of subarus but havent ran across anything worth mentioning... the last dyno i had done i laid down 350awhp at 26 psi... but since the rebuild not so sure hoping to hit 500 but thats about all u can do these days

 

I understand y'all raising the BS flag, running 9's is serious business. I just recently met him and he has not been in this area long; He showed me a time slip... BUT seeing something in the 9's kinda did this to my face:

In fact, I think he is scheduled to go to another base soon.

I will talk to him and check out the time slip... sorry if I raised any hell dropping the the infamous 9.

 

BTW, ya'll ever hit off-road, here, on the coast? I've been wanting to get the ralliart in some fun in the dirt... just don't know any areas where I'd be able to kick up dust.

 

Im not trying to call anyone a liar. What im getting at is, this isnt the 1st time someone has moved down here with claims like this. Not trying to sound cocky either but the group that i hang out with knows just about everything that goes on around here. "We" are the main racing group. One of the members mom on Redlined owns Gulfport Dragway. We have people out there every single night it is open. If he did it around here, i would have been the 1st to know. lol

What color is it? Does he have it down here?

BTW i can show you a 8.80's time slip, but my Evo didnt do it. lol
