Warning Gillman Mitsubishi Houston

FYI, Gillman Mitsubishi will not do any warranty work if you have modified your EVO. I would not recommend anyone buying an EVO from them. I took my 03 in to have them look into my issues that I continue to have with my transmission(grinding while shifting, notchiness). They said that they would not even investigate my concerns since I had an aftermarket clutch installed which was installed by the Mitsu dealer I bought the car from in Savannah, GA. My original dealer also did the synchro TSB and replaced my transfer case under warranty with the aftermarket clutch installed.

WTF? Do they expect you to just stop shifting when your clutch wears out? Or are you supposed to only use a stock replacement. That's BS.

I'm in the market for an Evo, and so they will be off my list (even though I'll proabably buy a used one from the For Sale section).

Same Gillman off BW8 and 59? yhea....TARDS. Service guys there are always pissed off cause they cant up-sell any 300.00 brake jobs or 100.00 oil changes to us Evo peeps who know how to work on our car....then we come in to complain about the worst part of the CT9A - trans and they start pointing fingers back....A-holes. Call TRE or Shep and do it right....dont let the dealer touch it!

Gillman is the worst dealership in the world. I called them asking them about the clear coat on my wing pealing off with only 1900 miles on it. BTW car is garaged at all times. They wouldnt even bother looking at it.

Wow ... this thread dredges up memories. I bought my Eclipse from these guys back in 1999. All the warranty work I had done was in Austin where I went to school though ... the dealership in Austin was always cool and never gave me a hard time about the mods on the Eclipse then. It is terrible how bad these dealerships have become.

well the one in 1960 and I 45 north are the same, they were not wanting to look at my wing because they were being asses, they said that the clear coat is not covered by the waranty at all, with just 20k. so forget them!

Down with Gillman. Take your car to Conroe Mitsu. Take your mods off no matter what, that's just common sense. The guys there will treat you right. They treat you like a human being and tell it like it is. This is also the only dealership I have ever had a good experience with. Just my two cents.

In all fairness, they are linking the inability to honor the transmission work on the aftermarket clutch. Not your other mods... just that clutch. I went into Gillman for a 5th gear lock out (prev grinding) and in 5 mins they said there was a TSB and asked me if i still had the stock clutch in. I said yes, and they immediately said "ok, no problem you wont be liable and it is covered under warranty" Needless to say, i got a newly rebuilt transmission and it works better than when i bought it new. I have all the mods listed in my signature and they didnt even blink. My boost controller was in there and everything...

The peeling on the Wing should not be a problem. I mean there is a TSB to replace all peeling Wing on 03-04 Evos. They should not have turned you down for it.
