Austin Evo Meet
For sure as of right now there will be 2 of us meeting up, with you that'll be 3. I'm guessing a few more than that will show up too. If you can't meet us at 9:00 give me a ring and we can meet up somewhere else. My cell is 512-787-0202 and the name is Clayton.
The more the merrier!

Sorry for the late post guys but this part of the forum is new territory to me.=]
Anyways, I would definetly be interested in meeting some of you local evo guys. Their are a number of local "scenes" in austin, I am just really not into that whole street racing thang. I think we should just meet up sometime saturday afternoon near some of the twisties of 2222.
BTW, I waved at a silver evo in the best buy parking lot today and I just wanted to know if the dude is on this board.

Dudes, Evo Meet this weekend in South Austin, what do you think? How about Jake's again on Friday or Saturday night?

On an unrelated note, other than the short bit of 2222 and city park road, any other fun drives around or just outside of town? I've been wanting to try Devil's Backbone, but it's near Wimberly...
Take 2222 west of 360. When you get to 620, go straight through the light. The road becomes Bullick Hollow, which can be pretty fun. Bullick Hollow dead-ends into Volente road. You can turn left there and follow that to Volente or turn right here to get back to 620. Once in Volente the road will turn right, turning into (the infamous?) Lime Creek Road. After a long, twisty run Lime Creek will spit you out onto 1431. Hang a right and you'll head back to Cedar Park and 183.
You can try Old Spicewood Springs road. It's west off of 360, one light south of the light at Spicewood Springs. That's north of 2222 and south of 183 and Great Hills. Head west from 360 on Old Spicewood (fun), eventually it will dead-end back into Spicewood Springs. Just hang a right and you can get back to 183 after a few miles. I used to run my Subaru on that road after ECU resets and new mods were installed since I just lived right there at Spicewood/360.

I also like to drive through Westlake to/from Zilker park. A short version would be Zilker<->Redbud Trail also. From Barton Springs road take the Zilker north entrance on the West side of the park. You'll drive back underneath the MoPac bridge across the lake. The road is hilly/twisty through there. It dumps you out on Redbud. Hang a right and you'll get to lake Austin Blvd. Or hang a left to go to Westlake for the long version.
So if you've taken the left on Redbud you should eventually come to a 4-way stop with a gas station. Bear right onto Westlake drive and follow that for a long time through all the hills and twists and turns of westlake. It will eventually spit you out on 360 south of the bridge by Davenport Village.

Here's the Zilker <-> 360 run through Westlake. The red highlight is Stratford <-> Redbud <-> Westlake, and the black one is Redbud <-> 360 via Westlake. Stratford between Barton Springs and Redbud is pretty fun.
