Yeah, Mike has a Silver MR. I have a black IX. I only started going since January, and I've been to all the events since then (even the rookie school). Maybe that's why we haven't seen each other. The only other Evo owner I know at those events is a guy in a white VIII with a totally stripped out interior.
I won't be at the June 1 event (anniversary plans), but I should be at the rest of them throughout the year.

Dang man, I really love your car. Didn't you recently get this car? If you don't mind me asking...why did you pick the 8 instead of the 9? I know the differences and stuff, just curious to hear your reasons. I love the way the 8's look with that lip.

I wanted to buy a 9 but never could find one that was close enough (in the state of Texas), the right price (under $27K), the right color (I really wanted red), and not an RS (most of the local reds I found were an RS - either that or they were close to or over $30K).
So after six months of looking and looking and wishing I had an evo, I stumbled across this 8 in great condition, right down the street, exactly the color I wanted, and at a decent price. On top of that, it was not an RS. So, I jumped on it and lived happily ever after... so far.
Yes I would like to have had the MIVEC and its ability to get more power - plus the black seats instead of the blue but eh.. what the heck. At least I have a red Evo! That and I still have the 10.5 hotside and the front LSD so I'm happy. That's my story.
Chapter 2, is titled, "how I dominated the STU class." It's a works in progress of course. Page one - practice, practice, practice.... I'll keep you all updated as the story unfolds.

I will probably upgrade the turbo eventually, so I'm not really too concerned with the MIVEC, and the black seats/different tails/wheels/bumper don't really matter to me as much. Sure I wouldn't mind having the newer one, but if there's not a big difference in the gearing (mostly what I'm concerned about..) then I might as well save some money. Glad to see you putting the car to use as well..not many people realize these cars are amazing in the curves

Active here in The Woodlands/Spring....Just waiting and fighting with a local dealer to get my car back since they jacked it up. 
If anyone knows a certified Mitsu. tech please let me know! I need to get some information clarified that I believe the dealership I am dealing is trying to pull off as bull.

Nice pictures guys! Reggiesd, I have always really loved how your car looks. So sick man. Loving the 5zigens alloutdsm..and red_evo8, if I could see more of your car I would probably love it. Do you have the SE BBS'? I'm so jealous of all of you...hahah!
