San Antonio Evos!!

Well..it seems more SA Evos have surfaced from what I can tell in the south section. I figured, if enough interest is expressed, to set up a monthly meet. Weekly meets don't work, bi-weekly would probably even be pushing it, but with a monthly meet...either at the beginning, mid, or end on a Saturday or Sunday during the day it can work. This thread is just to gauge interest and input on what part of the month/location would work best. I have a few locations in mind...but we'll work that out as we go. I'm not going solely of interest expressed on this board either, since most Evos around here don't post on message boards..so I'll let ya'll know on how others feel about making it happen.

Another thing..for any Austin folk who may drop in this thread too, feel free to type in your input and if ya'll would be willing to make the drive down and meet up...I know first hand Austin has nice some Evo's to represent

Whatsup mang..I see you're coming from Orlando..I came here from Ft. Lauderdale..still got my FL plate on Yea mag...the Evo interest has definitely grown in SA since I came down ehre a year and a half ago. Most of the time I'm able to round up at least 6-8 of us. Just PM me when you're in town.

It's not off topic since you're posting in a thread about evo meets. So the answer to your first question has already been answered with the creation of this very thread.

There are local "shops" and tooners, but it those will be absolutely no where close to the degree of what you're probably used to in Florida.

The EVO's in SA have been around since 2003, but the group has gotten bigger as of recent with the prices of EVO's lowering down. Just make sure you don't succumb to the mob mentality or get caught up in the ricer circuit and you'll be fine.

OR -- he could simply think for himself and not do the same thing as everyone else.

Personally, for tuning I would take advantage of the AMS sessions that happen a number of times throughout the year in San Antonio. You really can't beat the number one shop for something local.

For actual installation and mechanical work--opinions vary, but the most common shops are Precision R and there's Mitsuorder on this site who can do work for you as well. If you're an intelligent individual, you'll do as much of the work yourself and not have to worry about someone else screwing your car up or charging you too much for something simple.

In my opinion, you should meet a number of groups and talk to a number of shops / individuals and make the decision yourself instead of following one particular person or group.
