wheel repair

need to get one of my wheels repaired. I had a shop quote me at $130 a wheel. can anybody do better? thanks

You can probably find a used one for about $100 - assuming you're talking about stock wheels. Probably your best deal.

This is just pure speculation because I've never had a wheel repaired but....

It's also probably the safest way to go. Just me but I wouldn't trust a repaired wheel. It might not get put back perfectly, could be slightly out of round, or off balance, or could have suffered metal fatigue or hairline cracks that could cause issues later.

i would think if they are repairing the wheel they would check out of roundness, balance it, and prolly magnaflux the wheel for cracks... but then again, thats what i would do, and i know not everyone would do what i do

correction* since the wheel is aluminum magnafluxing wouldn't tell you much. haha
