I packed all of my belongings into my Rabbit convertible, (simpler times then)
stopped by my cousin's (waterfront, Galveston Bay, near Sylvan Beach)
talked me into staying for the hurricane party....
wasn't much of a party for long...

worked outside in rising knee high water, re-covering a window that blew out cutting one of us...
watched the roof blow off and float away like a boat-upside down-
we hunkered down into the stairway closet and amoung other promises...
"I swore the next hurricane party I attended would be MILES away"...

Man..keep safe down there. I lived in Galveston for 3.5 years. That seawall is just a false sense of security. That whole place floods with a small storm. I'd be outta there. Better safe than sorry..right?

been in a few being from jamaica then living in miami. Andrew, Gilbert both cat 5's a few cat 3's,2's, 1's and tropical storms. u get the point. just make sure u have lots of bottled water, canned food and stuff to do your goign to get bored if its bad. ply board on all the windows, pray the roof stays on. and if u lose a window or door open one on the opposite side of the house to relieve the perssure in and out. stay safe man. good luck, gods be.
