Pictures & Video from the SCCA 9/28
If you don't want to have to do any work (and swap tires, STU limits AWD to 245 tires), then running N-SM doesn't hurt you too bad.
STU: 0.830
SM: 0.860
So a PAX run of 40 seconds would be 33.2 (STU) and 34.4 (SM).
To get into STU legally you'd have to take off your tune, cams, cam gears, etc. Too much work IMO.

I placed 3rd in Novice, Evo_Someday placed 4th.
They haven't posted the results yet, but I think we actually beat the driver that came in first's raw times, but we lost once the index was applied. The guy that came in second was in some sort of Corvette (C5 I think). I think his raw time was much better than ours since his class has a harder handicap. I ran 60.150 and I think that he likely ran 57.6xx.
I was totally uncompetitive in my non-novice class, seeing as 4th or 5th place in the class was like a 56 or a 57 run. 4 or 5 seconds on a 60 second run is better than when I started, so I am super excited to see how I do with new tires (the edges are starting to look really poor on my rears/used to be fronts).

BTW - if anyone was wanting to know a good place to get the numbers and lettters made, I got mine done at a place in Carrollton. Check the website for samples and pricing.

Or you can do like some of us and just make your own with the magnetic sheets you buy at a hobby store for about $10. GoofyGrin care to provide a little DIY on how to make them?

step one: buy magnetic sheet
step two: print numbers (use paint.net to stretch the numbers)
step three: tape paper to magnet
step four: cut out number
Really hard

Here's a set of pictures from the event: http://vorshlag.smugmug.com/gallery/...83106666_b3L8n
Dennis, the autocrosspictures.net guy wasn't there since his car was leaking oil and he was asked not to come. He is tearing down the engine and transmission...

run 4 is why u need suspension and wider wheels
I am on super stiff coilovers, running the widest tire allowed in my class (245). My tires are pretty much gone though (new tires this week). Now I'm contemplating a stiffer front roll bar... but I don't want to try and snake it in and out! You basically have to drop the front suspension to get it in and out.
Run 4's sliding was caused by me running too little tire pressure. I'd gone from 40 to 36 run 1 -> 2, then 36 to 34 2 -> 3 (which was my fastest) and then I went down a couple more PSI on run 4, and I got loose.

You'd have to run SM though since you have the FP Red... But you could run really nice tires too

[/IMG]Oh, you mean tires like this?

Yesh. Tires like those...
But your FMIC, LICP, injectors, tune, etc. put you squarely into SM if your turbo didn't.
And I wish I owned part of that gas station... because they must roll in the dough!

(Once I get my car going fast enough that is) still too slow right now.
