Wow! So what are your plans (i.e. - Quaife, Shep T/TC, etc.)? I stopped by the autocraft shop but realized that it was/is closed on Mondays.

Monkey and Soceur it was nice kicking it with you fellahs this evening. I look forward to more days like this before we head across the water. Monkey, I feel you on that "bug" we talked about before I left and I might just have to change up my plans. Could you send me a link to that EBC we spoke of? I appreciate that. Soceur, if you read this before tomorrow morning, I'm bringing my appetite for lunch and I'll even let you tease yourself by driving the mamba. I'm pretty excited about heading back to the track Friday. I recommend we roll out again around 1930 promptly to get ahead of the crowds. Well, I have some quality time with the Mrs. to take advantage of now that the little homies are in the bed. Later...!

Glad to hear everyone is having fun("well most everyone, sorry no play time Fred-but mad ups to putting family first).
I'm up here at Ft. Riley temporarily then off to Colorado springs. Really wish I coulda brought the X but theres just no way to stuff a 650 lb tool box in it haha.

I too know the pain of broken dreams at the track, but practice makes perfect. Till you break... but thats just part of the game right?

Hope everyone is healthy and happy, I'd love to rep a club logo up here once it's finalized, I think the hesitation is that no one want's to be in charge?

Having been in a club before I know that even keeping a casual club going takes a lot of effort on the part of the Pres and officers. Perhaps thats why it hasn't jumped off yet?

That plus being a club where most members a re military is never an easy thing anyway.

Well everyone take care, I so would have ran if I'd been there for track night...cest la vie.

Later,
Mike

DAAAAAAAAM!!!!!! Wow im speechless...guess I knew it would be something like that but jeez the pics are disturbing..lol You do make a good point about the lsd being the weak point. I wouldn't want to pay for a couple t-cases or trannys vs an lsd. I rode by sprockets yesterday as well, but didnt think of them being closed, so either you were hauling butt with getting this out of the car this weekend or you were in a home garage?..lol either way great work, i would have loved to help, if not only to get some experiance working on this type of car especially in and around the area it seems we break alot.

I know what you mean bro, sorry I had to dip out as fast as I did, .....man i seriously have a 24 addiction or something...jack baurer is the devil...lol But yea i like to kick it when we can. That park rather that huge park down from the mcdonalds off memorial is the like the ultimate meeting point, huge parking lot, and if you wanted to, you act up a lil bit with out worring about the cops as they can only come from 2 sides and they dont get the visual vantage point. You BBq there etc etc, but what do i know.... Yea we definitely can hit mcdaddys for lunch.....

Yes. It makes me want to address this issue at the same time of the transmission and transfer case upgrade. It makes me wonder just how faulty the LSD actually is considering I've read about 500+whp cars not having issues with the LSD whatsoever. I wonder if evoready was/is sitting on a big turbo.

Each car is different. I have seen stuff break on 300whp cars and 550whp cars and some not. It takes one wrong (or even slightly wrong) launch to make your night at the track a very expensive one.

edit - a twin disk clutch seems to reduce the chance of this happening in my experience.

I'm thinking about going with the stainless steel vacuum hoses (to include the fuel lines). Is there some type of "conversion" with the clips, fasteners, or clamps of some sort I have to do in order to properly install these nice and tight? Thanks.

big turbo or not,

i made 3 mistakes:

1) reversed to the stage after the burnout-this does not preload your gears/drivetrain, leaving a very small but damage-causing gap in the mesh of most of the drivetrain gears. in turn, the initial launch will be like a hammer to the next gear in line. newb mistake/will never happen again even the stage guys yell at me about what the hell i'm doing.

2) i didn't slip my ACT clutch enough for my 6K 2 step. i thought i did, but i think the non-preloaded drivetrain condition exacerbated it all by a lot. the ACT XTSS clutch with a lightened flywheel and street disc is like an on/off deal. i also have no clutch restrictor. i launched on it cold and even with my pedal in slip position it grabbed with almost 100% clamping force. i will heat it up in the wetbox next/all times. luckily the diff shattered like glass and took most if not all of the shock. i was pretty lucky actually.

3) forgot the track is VHT prepped. sticky stuff heh.

3 mistakes i will never make again. remember i'm going for consistant 11's one day heh (aren't we all?). hard parts are gonna break. i don't blame the RA lsd at all. it's just my inexperience. i'm a better ecu hacker/car builder but am now sick of watching people go fast. time to execute lol.

i'll be out there on friday or saturday weather permitting.

--- Dinosaur Valley Cruise ---

I know some of you are going to be out of town on block leave enjoying family and friends before the deployment. I wish each of you lots of fun and relaxation. For those of us staying locally, there is a little car cruise going on up in the Dallas area with the NTEC fellahs. I told Kevin that I'd be interested in making the drive and the invitation has been extended for the CENTEX fellahs to join in. The link to the thread is below. The drive starts promptly at 0900 so I recommend those leaving that we leave from here right at 0600 to give us enough time to "slowly" drive there.

Lessons learned are what takes us from good to great. I think I'd respond a little differently had it been my car and I think most of that would be wife-induced-stress. I like your attitude. I guess I'll have a little more overhead for my mistakes as the car will be paid off before we return home for the 'ole Taji.

There's a new GG X that has been parked in the 57th ESB (my unit) and I'm trying to find out who the person is...

As far as the club is concerned: In Cali we had an official/unofficial club. We had no real leaders and just coordinated events online. Whoever showed up showed up and eventually the group became stronger and stronger. Forcing this upon someone will only end badly.

Are we going to stick with E.S.W.A.T. ?
