Well, that Honda was a mistake even for a daily driver. The DSM, well, it was tuned for over 500whp and now I have to return to my first love.

Cheaper to maintain a race car than to build one

Not always true , what if he buys in and the compression is starting to get a little low in one cylinder. You may not notice that while driving it , then its gonna cost him money anyway to rebuild it. It can go both ways I guess , I guess its just me being a prideful type person but I would never buy a built car already.

That's your decision to do what you wish with your money. I would think if someone were to buy something built already they would at least do something as simple as a compression test

Pat, you seem to forget that I have already gone through the "build it" process with my VIII by squeezing every bit of power out of the stock VIII turbo. The car was truly a blast to drive as Mario can attest to this as he was with me the night I threw a rod when I got a boost spike to about 35 or so PSI between 3rd and 4th gear on E85 while NLS'ing. The term "fun" is all subjective and open to interpretation. It is over the long run economically better to by a car that already comes "built" with certain things I am looking for.

To side with John (Kid), an already built short block, even if someone has to do some work to it, is still cheaper than having the block built from scratch. Obviously, there are more details to this and I will not bother to go down all of the technical aspects of things. I have already found a IX as my next candidate and this build will be nothing like my last as I deemed it rather mild based on me working with the stock VIII turbo. The bottom line is that I know exactly what I am doing and I am no rookie when it comes to properly building an EVO with quality parts.

Had the car tuned today. 385whp, 385wtq, Pump Gas, HKS GTII, Perrin Intake, AMS IC, Buschur LICP, 880cc injectors, pump, mbc and TBE. Nothing else done to it.

I think I need cams or spoolin up kit to get any more meaningful gains in this heat.
