Teperatures for Saturday February 7th

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 72. Windy, with a south wind between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. South wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

I would suggest for everyone to bring a light to medium jacket, just in case. The wind might make it a little cold.

1. Logo (we need a decision, because this will affect other ideas)

3. "Business" cards (with logo, so we can tag other evos we see around town)
4. Cruises (we need more of these, possibly have a driving commitee)

14. Membership (pay like 10 bucks to get into the club, get a free decal and t-shirt, yes I know the membership thing is touchy, but how are we gonna pay to make the t-shirts and decals/stickers?)

We will be voting on the logo for NTEC at this meeting. I would suggest, everyone bring to one copy of their design or one they like (as seen on the net). Then as a group, we hold a vote to select one. Once we get the logo, then we can make shirts, stickers, banners, decals, etc.. A decision will be made at the meeting, so please attend.

We will attempt to connect a laptop to the TV in the private room. So you can bring a flash/jump drive which contains your design. Just make sure the file is a JPEG or PNG. But please, still bring a hardcopy (printout) of the design just incase we have technical difficulties.

We are also going to discuss a NTEC Calendar of events. We will combine the Auto-Xing schedule with our own club schedule. Once the calendar has been decided, we can "sticky" it to the top of the Southern Region for everyone to see, and as things pop up, we will just add it to the calendar.

Since we will be discussing the calendar of events, it would help if everyone brought their own personnal calendars/planners/blackberrys so we can try our best to coordinate with everyones schedules. (so we can a larger attendance for furture events)

I will provide an agenda to structure the meeting. Since time will be tight, I beg, beg, beg, beg, everyone to be there on time.

Lets make this the best NTEC year yet!

sounds like a plan.. i agree we should do this to get these going. jan 31 is good for me as well. hopefully alot would come so that we could make this a good year.

 

Everything sounds good except there is a problem with charging money. Someone please fill the details in on that. We should have a meet in a central location to everyone. We may need to give everyone a little more notice than than two weeks if you want a big meet. I would also like to say that NTEC meeting means whatever ideas are discussed should be among members only. (Have to have either owned an Evo or currently own one.) Not trying to shun people away but we need to have group for Evo enthusiasts. If you want an Evo I am sure Don will be willing to try everything within the limits of what you can afford to help you get one and we will see you at the next meet.

There's not a problem, per se, with charging money, but rather that the powers that be (have been, were willing to help organize things when Ethan left) felt it best to have as little organization and formality as possible. Toward that end, we chose to structure NTEC as a framework for notifying people of events, and by taking no money, left no money for someone to go after in the event of an accident.

I would really like to attend this event as my work obligations are starting to really pile up, and I'm not able to dedicate the time and attention to the club that I was a few months ago. (read: I need help with things club-wise)

When is the next tuesday night meet?

 

Next week. I think that we should hold this on the weekend though (Saturday). Better chance for a bigger turnout.

 

I think Saturdays are a better day for the meets. I dont have time on tuesday to make it too the meets by the time I get off work and I know there are other people i the same boat as me. If you decided to keep the meets on Tuesday then I will try to make it but it will be a hit or miss.

The tuesday meets can still be as scheduled. I was suggesting to have one good BIG NTEC MEET on a Sat. because its easier to gather more people, and with the decisions that need to be made, the more the better. Decisions will basically be decided by votes, majority rules.

As for mrMTB comment about the money and the fear of someone going after it if involved in an accident, thats what waivers are for. When I was in the S2000 club, we had to sign a waiver before every cruise. Basically stating, your responsible for yourself and you can't blame the club for anything. It worked out fine, no problems, no complaints on signing the waivers, it was part of the deal.

 

a big saturday meet is fine, but im talking about the regular monthly meet..

 

^ Still as scheduled I assume, this BIG NTEC MEET has nothing to do with the scheduling of the others. Its just a one time shot deal, to get everyone together to jump start the decision process.

 

Sounds like a very exciting plan to me.
