This kind of law is getting more and more common. A lot of states or districts have laws that will impound the cars of spectators at street races, too. Be careful out there - save the racing for the track.

its funny they don't impound a person driving drunk for first offence. They kill more people than racers.

after sept. 1st if you get caught racing, the police officer can arrest you at area pulled over. he will send you to jail, allowed bond, cars also impounded and its over $150

now they do impound drunk drivers vehicles, and send them to the detoux

Since I don't street race, that will have limited affect on me. I would say keep the racing on that track and everyone should be fine.

As far as DUI driver goes, recent studies show cell-phone user is twice as likely to have accident than drunk drivers. I think we should have a hand-free kit law or something NOW. Just some food for thought...

That cell phone law just came into effect as well, the 1st of this month. It is illegal to use a cell phone without a hands-free kit now.

As for the street racing law, I thought it was just jail and suspension of license for a year. I didn't know they'd impound your car too.

Some of our laws are all F@(*D up....How do these things pass......cell phones, seat belts, licence plates, racing, DWI's..etc. They are all of different importance, I think. They sure are strict on some things and let alot of crap slide!!!!!!!!!!!

Yo guys first day I got my lancer I got pulled over for street racing. It sucked so bad I thought i was gonna lose my car from my rents. They let me go but they said next time I'll go to jail but this has happened to me like 5 times now. I think it really depends on your age and if you have a dirty record. I'm pretty clean and I guess they think I'm fairly young(17) so they dont wanna ruin my life and send me to jail lol! But so far so good no tickets or anything and I dont have a front license plate but I also have the temporary plate in the rear so I dno?

Yep, it's a $200 fine for framed license plates. They want to be able to see the state you're from.

I see it as a money making scheme.
