Call in the mad scientist....KevinD
there are a few tuners around the US that could already tune the X using ecu flash. i believe there are a handful of them around the US. here are a few.

ECUTek = $6-700 (licensing cost + tune cost) and closed source
ECUFlash = $free + KevinD's tuning cost and is "open" source (well open source tuning)
The last I have read is that they are still working out the bugs (bugs which equal bricked ECUs).

Just supplying options, research is up to the interested party...
Thats everything I have researched Goofy. I thought KevinD may have access to more information than us. Maybe an inside track we don't know about.
I follow it pretty closely for kevin.... b/c I have more time at work to surf the web..... but we do not have a method for tuning the X right now, ECUflash is the software, Kevin has the cable and is ready when the final version is released. The beta version is working, but if the user is not careful, then there is a possibility to brick the ECU.
The issue with the AP (which was $625 at the beginning of the year) is that it only has one map now... and you get weird things if you have any mods at all.
You can get custom tuned, but you pay the cost of the AP + the cost of the dyno tune ($3-400).
For those of us "team cheap bastard" members there really isn't anything just jumping out at us at the moment. Patience is definitely a virtue IMO when you are talking about the ECU of such a complex vehicle like the Evo X.
