i really hope that im one of the lucky ones that dont have a ping-happy STI. i've run through 4th at WOT and as far as i can tell no sign of it.

gillman?...stay as far away from them as you possibley can. austin subaru is VERY cool about mods and the guys over there seem to know what their talking about. id bring it there for any kind of warrenty work you need done on her.

just a heads up. on a positive note...geezuz this car can pull.

Treefallen: I think Zeus gets xylene from Sherwin Williams for like $7 a gallon. Where are you getting your toluene and for how much?
I can't remember if it is $7.49 or $7.99 a gallon for Xylene... Toluene was a buck more expensive and a lower octane rating so I passed. I was only running 1 gallon of Xylene with 93 pump for a rating of 94.7. I may try http://www.need4speedpower.com/torco.html next as it probably works out cheaper if you consider that one bottle bumps us up to 104, and I'd only run a half bottle on a half tank.

The auto X was fun in the wet... I was knocking 1 sec a run off until the last when it started raining again, in which I lost a half sec with one good mistake due to the added slip-n-slide. I think I'm a little too agressive also, as I probably left a good sec or two every time going into the far end of the slalom. Oh well, that's a rookie for you.

iodine23,

Can I show up to the members event and join?

Zeus: I know you can usually join at normal events, but I don't think they're too keen on signing up at member's events. In fact I think I saw a mail to the Spokes list that this was not going to be allowed. I emailed the Spokes president to find out what the policy is on this and if it's possible for you to get in for the next event.

I've heard they're going to try and make it a kind of different setup with three different "events" or something. I think the events will be skidpad, drag race (with a tree?), and I guess an AutoX course. I lost the email that had the tenative plans, but that's what I remember.

Well as I said, I joined at last week's event, but this was also the first time I participated...so that may be why they offered me to to join. If I were you, I'd email them and tell them you want to join the club (and for next year too!). I am quite confident this will work out.

Yes, the auto-x was fun, I love driving in the rain.

The official word from Spokes Prez:

Both of these events are for members only. In addition these events are limited only to those members who have attended AT LEAST one event this year. In other words it will not be possible for someone to join the club prior to the events and be permitted to run in those events.
The only gray area I can see is if you attended multiple events as a non-member, but just now sign up as a member? I'm thinking you won't be allowed to run.

So I guess that means you probably won't be able to run those events, Zeus. However I'd think Treefallen would be able to run.

If you guys want clarification I'm sure you can contact the Spokes BOD.
