Hey guys, I may be moving to Shreveport for my job and was wondering what your thoughts were. Is it a good place to live. Do you love it, hate it, or what lol? Also I was wondering about the cost of living there? I am in West Virginia currently in the Charleston-Huntington area. Any input would be great. Thanks.

 

I'm from La. and I wouldn't live in Shreveport. You need to live in Bossier City. The cost of living isnt that much compared to Tx but WV I dont know. PM me if you have any more questions.

 

I'm in Bossier City ... actually barksdale AFB i would say go with Bossier city also but if you do live in shreveport stick to the older parts of town and/or the outskirts just look around once you've been here a few weeks you'll know the bad areas. As far as other stuff it's a nice place to live it's warm almost all year round and it barely ever gets below freezing. There's always stuff to do and the Mudbugs hockey is a big local favorite. I would guess cost of living is comparable to West virginia but i have no idea really.

 

You may want to check out 318racing.org, the site is about a year old. It can give you an idea about the whole import scene in Shreveport/Bossier.

Did 3 years at Barksdale AFB. It was ok. Very dead in the town, but hey, I met my wife there so I can't complain!
