I have a friend with a 05 sti with invidia exhaust downpipe catless, runing the cobb ap, clutch and he cant get his car lower than 13.4 on the 1/4 mile hes a good driver. I think the x has a very good chance of taking the sti stock for stock and tuned for tuned. Sti's have a crapier softer stock suspension as well.

Carbon fiber hood and Type R style wing traveling east on I-10? If so, I think I see your car just about every morning. I had an '02 RSX-S back in the day. It was even Satin Silver. Lowered on coil-overs with an AEM CAI, Tanabe SRM exhaust, RH CP-035's. Loved it. Still amazes me that a 23K Acura built in '02 had/has a better interior than a 30K+ Mitsu built in '06. I never expected a luxury sedan interior in the Evo, but seriously. Still wouldn't trade my Evo for less than a 911 GT3 though.
Sorry about the rambling. Haha.

I'll second that. I test drove a Ralliart, X GSR, X MR, and STi before I bought my most recent Evo IX MR.....just to make sure that I was making the right choice for me, and quite honestly if I hadn't found my IX, I most likely would have bought a new STi instead of either of the X's.
Coming from the Honda world, I have a preference for a lightweight/nimbler type of handling car, and the X just felt/drove like a 3600 lb car to me. The STi on the other hand didn't feel as heavy as the X, even though it's only slightly lighter, and I think I could have gotten that car down to 32XX lbs. VERY easily by gutting out the interior behind the front seats.
I couldn't he happier that I got another IX MR though.
