I see a lot if people put it on their windshield. No zip tie required.

i been breaking MD law w/o one.......the bumper has no holes and looks soooo nice without any lol but i suppose if you had to do it windshield I "read" was illegal, i would assume w/o blocking all possible air to the intercooler i cant see a feasible way of doing so.
But I bet someone on this forum has a rig/idea to do so.

Putting it in the windshield here in VA is a big no-no. I haven't had one on in the 2 yrs I've owned it and haven't been bothered yet. I can't come to putting holes in my nice bumper. I can def. get a ticket at any time though and kinda surprised I haven't.

Go to home depot and buy the industrial strength velcro. Theres a thread on here about it somewhere. Itll hold through rain, snow (winter), and 120mph+.

Its bout $5, you can take it off easily cuz its a sticker, and wont leave any holes in your bumper and you can mount it pretty nicely without it blocking any airdams.

Whether you have an VIII or a IX (though I see that you have a VIII), there aren't really any places for you to zip tie it without either blocking the intercooler or having the plate hang at an awkward angle. Most people who don't want to install the plate completely will use double-sided tape, which seems to have been pretty effective.

If your state requires a front plate and you want to display a front plate, don't waste your time putting it behind your windshield. Most cops who pull you over for no plate will probably still issue the ticket anyway, even if you point out that your plate is displayed behind your windshield. It is supposed to be securely fastened, which it is not, and shouldn't be in the passenger compartment, especially in that specific area. I've heard of law enforcement officers mentioning that in a non-typical situation (i.e. an accident or sudden burst of acceleration), the plate (made of thin metal) can get flung around and hurt someone. Before I installed my front license plate with the OEM brackets, I tried putting the plate on my windshield with those clear, tiny suction cups with small hooks to hold the plate by its screw holes, but it looked silly. I eventually just had it installed at the dealership, and I never regretted it at all.

thanks for this info. I was just issued a correction ticket for not having a front license plate a week ago. i'd go with this option too.
