the question is anybody got a "preferred" inspection sticker location in Austin, that can "help" me.

My car is a 1998, which is obd2, it's legal to put a newer engine in a specific year chassis, but illegal to put an older engine in a newer chassis. They look at my cars info and automatically go for the obd2, when they plug it up they get nothing, they won't do obd1 (in austin anyway) because it predates what my car is supposed to have. I could probably get away with it if my car wasn't registered in travis county, but that's not the case.
I went to 4 places trying to get around it with no luck, I even tried to talk them into using obd1, and they told me it's not legal.

^^^^ Need to know what year and version of B18 you have, and how it was converted to OBD1, i.e. jumper harness and OBD1 ECU or what?

I can't help you with the sticker, but if it's a B16A2 and it's running a jumper harness and OBD1 ECU, then all you need is an OBD2 ECU and it should run just fine. However, if it's a B16A1/JDM B16A, then I think you're in for a tough time getting it converted over to OBD2, since the A1 is missing sensors that the A2 is equipped with.

And that is exactly the case (JDM B16A), and that's why I'll throw codes if I use an obd2 ecu.

Sorry bro. I don't think it can be done without somehow adding the sensors, harness, etc. At this point, I recommend you post up on Honda-Tech to see if anyone there might be able to help you. If anyone knows, it would be a member of that forum.

Tried over there, from my experience the guys on this site are a little more willing to give you hand.

Anywho I think I got it taken care of, thanks for the input.

True. How are you getting around it? Moving to someplace that doesn't test emissions?
