I need a tuner! Anyone know a good one?

I recently bought an Evo IX SE. It only has 25k miles on it and was a true stock vehicle. The first thing I had done was a custom ECU flash by Tom Powell of 9sec9.com, with a Perrin intake and manual boost controller. He tuned it for 93 octane and 25-26psi. He was successful in it because we had no counts of engine knock at all with that much boost and it was soooo much faster! The problem is that I started throwing a SES light and it turned out to be a bad catalytic converter. I then had a local mitsubishi dealership warranty out the catalytic converter. Yes this permanently fixed the check engine light, but caused my ecu to detune a little, because it is slower now and I had 7/10 of engine knock at 26psi when a buddy of mine pulled my tune and logged a couple runs in my car. We had to turn the boost down to 23.5 to achieve no engine knock. I believe it is ok for now, but I really need to have it reflashed. I would just take it to Tom Powell, but getting ahold of him is like pulling teeth, he is never available because he is very busy I guess. I need someone who can give me a reliable, custom ecu reflash that I can be confident in. I live in Oklahoma City, OK. Please someone, anyone who either knows someone or is someone who can do this get ahold of me. Thanks

Contact Jay at Boosted Tuning dot com

He is a vendor on EvoM. User name is "Boosted Tuning". He used to be known as "evo_kid" before he became a vendor.

let me know if you need a hand. we are in dallas area and deal with nothing but evos. i can clear your SES light permenantly and tune it for 23.5psi or whatever you have it set to. i typically tune 9's to 23-24psi because going much above that just means less timing. we have a bunch of customers from that area make the drive down.

That's a pretty long drive when KevinD is almost 5 hours closer and can also "make his car pull hard and smooth through every gear". And I speak from experience, including an appt. on the 28th of this month to get retuned for my 950's and FMIC.

Don't waste ur time on jms, Read my review thread for more info. I had chris at Mellon retune my car and I couldn't be happier. I gained over 60 ft lbs and around 30 hp from my previous tune. Still have zero issues today and the drivability is amazing even on e85. If u need contact info for Mellon click the link in my sig.

You can't go wrong with either Chris at Mellon Tuning or Jay at Boosted Tuning. I've been tuned by both and the results from both were far superior to the three times I've been professionally dyno tuned .

The slow and methodical data-logging road-tuning via-email process simply can't be properly replicated on a dyno in a hurry, IMNSHO.

Email tune FTW!!!

If you are within 3000 miles of Kevin D @ Evolution Dynamics it's worth the drive.

I have been a big fan of English Racing's tune. They give you a bunch of other options as well. valet, knock timer, emissions pass, etc.
