Which intake setup are Evo X owners running in Texas?

Like the title says, I'd love to know which intake Evo X owners are running in texas! I'm torn between ETS and the cobb intake w/cobb inlet pipe and possibly the AEM at a distant 3rd option. I know the ETS has a heatshield which is nice, so that's a plus. I will be getting fully tuned at cobb in a few weeks, but just wanted to know which intake others in Texas are running.

Its doesn't matter, as long as it has a heat shield.

I'm running ETS but as far as how it will handle the Texas heat I couldn't tell you because I've only had it on for about 3 weeks now. So far no complaints though. I love it

Had my ETS for over a year and its awesome. Still had some rough idle when sitting in traffic but a tune fixed that up. Best intake on the market IMO.

How did the tune fix the idle issue?

Aftermarket intakes of any kind are not like the stock airbox (especially open element). The Ecu reads more airflow and more turbulence from the a/c fans kicking in reguardless of a heat shield. A pro tune (good one) should fix that. My accessport also did not have a map for the ETS so I used the COBB SF map because both had use for the stock Maf housing. Still not perfect but made due until I could get a protune. Now the car idles great and drives better than ever.

I've heard different things about different maps. If you call COBB they'll most likely tell you to run the COBB sf map with the ETS but I've also seen Baka on here and evoxforums say to run just stage 2 map and log. I did that and its running fine with my ETS.

Anyways back on topic

I'll probably be getting protuned within the next 3-4 weeks so i'm sure i'll be fine with the ETS for a short period. I just want to be sure I'm getting the right intake and not having to buy/sell repeatedly afterwards.

I have ETS sitting in my room waiting for install. I dont feel like installing anything until i drop my car first. jsut doens't feel right.

I was torn between the ETS / AEM

Here's a thread I started. More votes on AEM. BUT, I wanted to hear my intake and turbo. And I plan on picking up fabrication skills and possibly designing a true snorkel to front bumper for true cold ram air.

enjoy. its a good read. pretty much everything you want to know from other ppl.
welcome to evo x club.

I have GG with a single exhaust and high oem wing. maybe you'll see me around.
