06 Evo IX MR GG

Hi All,

I'm about to trade my car for an Evo at Peltier Chevrolet. It is a Evo 9 MR and according to the salesman it has the following mods.

Here are the mods:
-Buschur 3" Turboback Exhaust
-Buschur Cold Air Intake
-AEM Boost Gauge, Air:Fuel Ratio Gauge, Volt gauge
-Clutchmasters Performance Clutch
-Vented and Slotted rotors
-All parts installed by and Evo professionally tuned by Evolution Dynamics

It is Graphite Gray in color and had about 52k miles. Can you tell me anything about it like what kind of HP did it have and such? I'm driving all the way from San Antonio and wanted to see if yall know the previous owner.

Vin on the Evo. JA3AH86C66U011078 It has Oklahoma plates too.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ny

Did you pm KevinD (he owns/runs Evolution Dynamics) to see if he knows of the car?

Hi! I own a 2006 Evo IX-MR that I bought new. Stock, it came with 286 wheel horsepower. Some people will complain about the "sloppiness" of the 6-speed transmission, but my car just turned 100,000 miles and the tranny works just fine! The car (as an MR) comes with an aluminium roof for weight reduction. Check under the car and make sure you see yellow Bilstein gas struts that only the MR had. Also, it came with BBS wheels.

Best of luck! I hope everything works out!

EvoD is competing in the Pike's Peak race and so may not be available to answer for a while.
If you can't wait, i'd surely take it to a shop familiar w/EVOs to inspect it.

Yeah I did get in contact with Kevin a bit ago and spoke to previous owner of this car. The previous owner isn't a member on EvoM though.

Not sure what this post has to do with the specific car the OP is asking about, but there is some misinformation here...The EVO IX was rated at 286hp/289lb-ft at the CRANK, but actually put down 265-270whp, which would put the actual motor output at around 310-320hp. I never noticed any sloppiness in any 6 speeds. Also, the aluminum roof came on the RS, MR, and SE, and it wasn't for weight savings so much as handling. Saving around 16lbs from the roof was equivalent to lowering the center of gravity by about 3mm. The MR and SE models came with Bilstein's, HID's, and BBS's (grey on the MR's, diamond black on the SE/MR-SE). MR's also came with brake air guides up front, zero lift kit air dam extension under the front bumper, vortex generators at the rear of the roof, and a wicker bill lip on the rear wing for downforce.

For the OP, I put 180,000 miles on my first EVO IX MR that I bought brand new and it gave me ZERO issues for the 6 years I owned it. The one I have now has been great so far too. Good luck with the purchase.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this was sold before I can go up there. now Don Herring has a 03 Evo 8 and I wonder who traded their car in.
