I don't feel comfortable experimenting on a 30k car. The difference is my parents helped me with payments on the wrx and this one they aren't. I can't afford failure.

I apologize, there must have been some kind of mix up. We had several cars in the last few weeks that were being returned to stock. Give us a call or come by tomorrow and we'll get everything straightened out.

sounds like you should take them up on this and try and sort this out. seems only fair to let them try and make right any wrongs. then let us know how things. go alot of us are still looking for good shops to use and tune our cars.

Me included. i called on some cams and clutch work. will have to sit back and see what happens.

hey john,
i was up there today to get redynoed and i saw a set of cobb sway bars in their scrap pile. are these yours? they weren't trying to hide them or anything. i don't know exactly what happened, but i'm sure this is just a misunderstanding and was unintentional. well, whatever you do i hope you get this worked out, and please don't let this mishap be your character judge for this shops practices and procedures.

vincent.

I'm not worried about it anymore, they can keep them. I have no idea how a mistake like this could be made. I'm guessing they just took me for an idiot, as my auto knowledge is limited, and figured I wouldn't notice. I do appreciate your concen in wanting to get things resolved though.

I PMed the Mod to delete this thread so hopefully he/she will because I was pretty anrgy when I wrote it. I'm not saying what they did wasn't wrong, just not worth mentioning.

John4321-

Sounds like you are in the wrong, dude. Have you called them to clear this up? I have been going to FIS for almost 2 years and I have never heard 1 negative thing about them. Maybe you shopuld get FIS's story before you go flaming one of the only honest shops in DFW. Why don't you grow some ***** and call them? I'm sure they would love to hear from you.

I misread that not sure but its been a long day. Anyway got back from wasabi earlier and was really impressed with thier shop. Their Wrx has to be one of the strangest cars I've ever seen. Anyway I wish the mod would please just remove this as I don't think it's worth causing problems for fis. Haven't been here long will they do that? John

Well I've since gotten everything worked out, and would like to apologize to FIS for posting this before I spoke with them. After going to several diffrent shops in the area and getting poor work done by all of them, I'd have to say FIS is the best in the area I've used so far. Again, I'm sorry and look foward to doing business with you in the future. John

So, which shop should I take my Evo to, FIS or Wasabi? Not trying to start a war or anything. Also, the guys at Alamo did most of the work on my previous car and they were highly recommended to me by Jotech and InnerCrew for what I wanted. I never had any problems with their work so it sucks to see them get flamed on here because that's who I had planned on working on my car. I'm 30 by the way...not to old and certainly not to young.

I've dealt with Fis, Wasabi, and Imsport Racing. Imsport is the least expensive, but Pat the owner/mechanic doesn't have a ton of experience with Evo's. Wasabi is the most expensive, but I was not happy with the Lancer Shop clutch line they put in for me. It failed and my car had to be towed to the dealer. They told me it failed because of improper installation. Although they are wonderful at audio/video, Mike built me some custom a-pillars for my 3-ways that are unbelievable.

Fis always did everything right and I always felt confident they knew what they were doing. They have alot of experience with turbo/awd cars and the prices are fair, so for that reason I am going to be sending them all of my future business. Another thing I like about them is from what I've read on the subaru forums they are conservative/safe when it comes to dyno tuning, I can't say I've heard that about Alamo. Although I've never been there.

I say give FIS a try, you shouldn't be disappointed. Hope that helps a little. John
