Waco, TX - whats there to do?

Hey guys. I'm gonna be going to Waco next week for just a few days on business and wanted to know if you could recommend anything to do? I'm flying in on Tuesday the 4th and will be leaving on the 6th.

Does Waco have a night life at all? Anything good or fun to do? Good places to eat? Hook me up!

Please forgive me as I'm not familiar with Texas at all heh

oh yeah - can anyone down there give me the address of the Dell Computers location?

thanks!
steve

I'm in waco, and there is nothing to do here. The nightlife here will suck horribly here when you come down since finals start on the 6th for us.

Dell is in Austin which is about 100mi south of waco.

The rumor is there will be an intense game of tumbleweed chasing going on during the time you are there. Should be a lot of fun.

Looks like I'll be in the lounge, getting drunk on the company lol ..

Too bad there isn't more to do in waco .. (my co-workers call it "WACKO" .. thoughts on why that is?)

You can go to the Dr. Pepper Museum (is that spelled right?) and if your in town go to Rudy's Barbeque. That place rocks. I go there at least once a week. Dell is based out of Austin, I'd say about an hour and a half south on I-35, may be 2 hours. Besides that I don't know of much to do in Waco. The person who said Austin is the place to be is right. Go to 6th street, I'm there almost every weekend. Good luck and have fun.

Whatever you do, don't get a ticket or in a wreck. No offense, but waco drivers suck and the police are *******s (at least those my brother and I have come across).

I'm sorry you have to go to Waco.

Dr. Pepper is THE drink and besides their museum there is also the Texas Ranger Museum. It has quite a bit of interesting stuff in it including some Bonnie and Clyde stuff etc.

I'd recommend you spend about half your time in Austin Half your time in Dallas and all your time staying away from Waco. Also you could visit San Antonio as well, we've got Sea world among other things to do, but you just missed fiesta (9 days of big big parties) or maybe if you wanted to spend about what 2 1/2 hours you could visit the gulf. I just moved to Texas a couple months ago, but I'm finding lots of things to do, although it helps I'm in San Antone~

Also, no, Waco texas was home to the branch dividians(?), the cult headed up by david koresh(spelling?)

yeah, Waco had the Branch Dividians.

He is only in Waco for 2 days. It's bearable. I don't know where you are staying, but I would definatly hit up a bar called Tref's or Crickets (both on Franklin ave.) Those tend to be the biggest bars here. The Dr. Pepper museum SUCKS!!!! DO NOT waste your money on that.
