If you were in Houston I would offer to help, but I'd just be following this guide: http://www.evomoto.com/tech_info.php?techID=21

UFO beat me to it. the evomoto instructions are very good. and detailed with pictures. You can do it yourself, it's not that hard.

You can pm Joey Coates. He helped change a couple at the Vishnu Day back in March and I'm sure he would be glad to help if he has time.

yeah i just put mine in today. its a little ***** to get the ring out, i figured since its my car i can do what i want so i took some pliers and bent up the metal all around so the ring came right out, then just beat it back with a hammer, worked for me. have a towel ready though cuz when i disconnected the line there was a sh#t load of gas and it got everywhere all under my carpet and yes i did depressurize the lines but there was still gas!

carefull though, unless you want to void your warranty. Some have broke small parts during install and have problems at the dealer regarding there drivetrain warranty.

Does a fuel pump need to be upgraded even if my goal is only 300whp?

Thank you

Thank for all the replys!!! Vincent and EVOTEXAS I will get with you as soon as the pump comes in. Villan, it is just a good idea, with the Texas heat in the middle of August, it is just a precaution.

300 whp question

I saw Villan's post asking if the fuel pump needs to be upgraded to support 300whp.

Villan, can you let me know what the answer you got on that question was? I was going to say probably not, but I take it since you've ordered one I would have been wrong (shows how much I know

Anyway, once I've got the engine broken in on my new Evo (which will be tomorrow... taking a road trip to OK), I want to start looking at some mods. Anyone out there with suggestions on what gives me the most bang for the buck to start out with? I guess the obvious candidates would be replacing the factory air intake, and free flow exhaust. Any advice appreciated. I'd like some additional gauges too before I start messing with it too much so I can keep an eye on boost and oil pressure. Pity it doesn't come with these as standard, but I'm not complaining, it's an awesome car even stock. A bov would be nice too.... if only for the noise

I got about half the people on this board saying that I should change it and about half saying otherwise. I researched a bit more and learned that some tuners change it from the get go(DynoFlash) and some later(Buschur, Evomoto). I also learned that it depends on the weather. The hotter it is, the more the pump is going to lean out(IIRC). Al(DynoFlash) advised me that he has seen about 6-7 stock Evos that have fuel pump failure. Granted it is a very small fraction but do I really want to take the risk of my fuel pump leaning out without me knowing(no fuel pressure guage) and eventually dying causing other damages? So after about a week of asking a bunch of people, I finally said **** it and forked over $90(Gruppe-s). I guess if I'm going to be at around 300whp, I can sleep better at night concerning the fuel delivery department.

most bang for the buck is turbo back exhaust. i went with 3" ultimate racing dp and cat and 3" rmr catback. i got a dyno backed 23awhp and 14.9ftlbs. i will post up a dyno sheet later.
