oh hey what's up man, how's that exhaust working out for you? yeah my stock head bolts stretched on me in the middle of July, broke my hand the day before we got the car back together, then I decided to get a revised Helix dp and one of the new Helix o2 housings while I couldn't drive the car, broke the right hand so I couldn't shift. Got all of the new exhaust back on the car and had this weird vibration buzzing sound any time I went over 4k rpm. For the life of me I couldn't find what was causing the vibration. Talked to Dusty and he found that when all of the belts were off my car the balancer shaft pulley rotated 180 degrees, which is apparently something that is very easy to overlook. Anyway the car is back up and running like a top, a very quick turbocharged top. Next project, detail the dirty bastard, just been too hot out lately. Are you still running your cat? If so I would just do what Derekw did on this thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...hlight=CEL+fix

ahhh, I smell victory. dude, your my hero. I'm going to try that this weekend.
how the hell did you break your hand man? Sorry to hear that, but at least you didn't loose finger like one of my coworkers did this friday. It got smashed in a machine and it pulverized the bone in his index finger, OUCH. It looked pretty gross. I took pictures if you wanna see, you know you want to.

Talking of the Helix DP - mine bloody rattles when the AC is on, it's doing my nut in. Sometimes it doesn't do it though. I am guessing it is rubbing an underbody brace because I couldn't see any contact points near the oil pan.

Is yours rattling?

I'm fairly sure it's my clutch/fidanza flywheel combo that chatters, but it is more pronounced when the a/c is on

I've seen your Evo's in the parking lot from time to time.

I checked out an 04 @ Barrett, but they had it in the showroom so it was unavailable for test drive. I like the car, but still haven't had the opportunity to test drive or ride in one. The dealers just don't seem too excited about selling theirs.

Barrett was a pain in the a@# about test driving. I actually got mine without ever driving it. My wife bought it for me as a surprise while I was on a business trip (No, she doesn't have any sisters). Subaru seemed really nice about letting people drive STi's. Go drive one of them and figure the Evo is better

If you want a test drive at Barrett forget it. They wouldn't let me test drive one, and I had money in hand to buy it if I liked it.

If you want a test drive, let me know, you're more than welcome to give mine a try.

Yep, I was going to offer up the same thing. You're welcome to take it for a spin around the block and see what you think. Mine is still bone stock.

A friend of mine just bought an 05 Sti and I had a chance to drive it. If the EVO is better than that, then I'm very interested.

thanks for the invite. Maybe we could meet up sometime and I can take a ride with one of ya. I work in RR7 so whenever you guys can get some free time just let me know.
