I have to screw my car up . I got my window tinted up in Michigan before my wife and I decided to move back last month. Before we moved up to MI the state inspections were like 10 bucks and we were gone a little over a year and now they are 30 bucks man? WTF???? My wife said Jiffy Lube charged her 40 bucks for them to check her tint. I went to an "unnamed" place to get mine because that is a place where i meant some cool people already, but dude said that he could not pass me because of my 2 front windows! DAMN I HATE THIS STATE!!!!! I mean since we were back down here and I saw a few too may cars that had tint darker than mine and I figured that they had changed that about the tint and stopped being BE@TCHes about something that does not have anything to do with vehicle functionality! Anyway, He said that he wouldn't mind sticking his neck out there and pass me cause everything else was fine, but if I do happen to get screwed over again by another Apex cop or whatever then they won't mess with him, but rather his wallet. He said that I could either go get those 2 lighter somewhere or because he has seen some people with tint so dark you couldn't even see in when the sun was shining through! My main reason for going that dark (and it's not even limo tint) was to keep nosy Phukrs out of my stuff and to keep my car cooler inside on those hot days. Anyway, he said that I could try to find a place some of these people might have went to to see where they send people for inspections and go that route, but Now I don't know, but 2 shades of tint would look like crap to me!!!! Anybody in the Raleigh/Cary area know anybody? or know anybody that knows anybody? DAMN I HATE THIS STATE!!!! I'm fine with emissions tests, but I was told that is why the price went up!!!! Grrrrrrrr! Did I mention I HATE THIS STATE!!!! Well I can't complain too much, we are back closer to our families, won't be buried in snow getting rust spots or ran over by hummers going 60 in 4-6 feet of snow, it's cheaper to live here. However, I will miss the tall blonde dutch women, the nice *** B-Ball court across the street from my last place, the new mall that was big as hades also across the street, my peeps at my old Best Buy store, NO STATE INSPECTIONS, and not getting dark until 10 or later in the summer! I know we got druggies and crazy dumb people and everything, but man, IT'S JUST WINDOW TINT!!! What is the big deal? Well I'm gonna get outta here now because I HATE THIS STATE!!!! I mean what is this thing for again? I can't say it enough, I FRICKIN HATE NORTH CAROLINA, but it is home. I'm out, PEACE!!!!

Check out Forumla One on Springfield Dairy Road (I think). It right befor the Leith Mitsu Dealer on Capital Blvd. It's in the phone book too. I had them do my tint (18% all around).

How much did they charge for a tint job? i dont want to go that dark but i got quoted 325 smakers today and that seems a tad high in my book

 

when I moved here 5 years ago from Floriday I had to do the same thing. I got out the razor blade and peeled off all the tint from my CRX cuz it failed inspection. My brother just moved here 6 months and same thing for him too.....failed the first inspection and had to break out the windex and razor blades. Some states have have stricter tint regulations than most. I've just stopped caring and don't bother with tint......I just keep it in the garage....good for keeping the sun out

BTW North Carolina rules all !!!!!!! I love this place....I'm never leaving. I'm originally from Ohio so what REALLY sucks is anyplace from there northward. I'd rather be stricken with a deathly illness than ever go back up north where the winters are cold and bleak and industry is all over the place.....it's like nightmare **** for me.

yeah, the only other songs I know that mention Carolina are "Scenario" by Tribe Called Quest and "Shout Out" and "Night Train" by James Brown. Hell, James even mentions Raleigh by name....represent!!!!!!!

 

I paid 300 with a $50 coupon. But believe me when I tell you, Formula 1 is the best tint that money can buy. I had it on my Chrysler for 6 years and not one scratch, fade or peel anywhere. (And I'm not exagerating).

If you have the money and you want a good tint job that will last longer than your car, go with Formula 1. It's pricey but well worth it.

 

I got my quote from sun protection in cary. they quoted me on formula 1 film i do belive.. i guess it just seems high to me compared to the 220 i paid for my mustang back in the day. guess the extra windows could have something to do with it

 

Holy crap! I paid 140 in Pensacola for 7 windows, Formula One. Holy crap! That was in March.

Those are California prices my friends. I could not believe how much tint cost back in my home state of CA.

Here in LA (Lower Alabama), I bet it is either the same or cheaper then FL.

i got my windows tinted for $110. he will do any % you want. it has a lifetime warranty also. you scratch it he will replace it. it wont turn either. i have had my four vehicle done there and sent about 10 of my friends there. He is the best around. i will post pics of the tint job when i get off work 9:30-10:00

north carolina is not all that bad...but yea the price for inspection went up due to emmission testing.....and if you make friends you can get an inspection sticker...my parents have the same problem as well, theirs just comes to low on the front window. older cars only cost 20 bucks but that 25yrs old +
