synchro issues are a common problem i see on evos with the original gear oil still in the box after many miles.

As I suggested - I would recomend you try the Shell Helix Fyll synthetic gear oil or red line - many times that alone will resolve the problem

If you can geta new syncro set under warranty that is prob the best route

I hope you took off the cat back though as the factory rep may not be too happy !

Question, if for some reason my car starts pulling timing again, maybe from overboosting, race gas or whatever, would disconecting the battery for 5 minutes restore the reflash timing you put in?

 

In your case as we found - what you really need is the fuel pump and regulator upgrade from www.pruvenperformance.com

Sadly - my precsription for your car requires us to raise the fuel pressure up much higher - OR add 660 injectors - then RE-TUNE the car on higher boost

In your case we ran out of injector on the high boost - a good sign which means significant power was being made

I think with some more fuel and a re-tune on high boost there is another 15 whp to be found on your car

Alternatively - you can just keep it the way we set it and enjoy it the way it was on the slightly lower boost - it was running very well

Disconecting the battery restores you to the exct tune you left with - however I do NOT see your car changing the timing unless you get some very bad gas

 

Hey guys.. I heard about the re-flashes and it's all good... Everybody is happy.. I also wanted to go to check out the scene, but was informed late of the venue change.. I was already in Hialeah when I found out... Anyways, I'll probably be there, although late.. I have to go to my wife's Christmas party at her boss's house.. After that I'll probably bring her out with me... I gotta drive one of the re-flashed EVO's.. I'm most likely gonna finish getting my exhaust soon and sens my ECU up for a bench-flash.. It's unfortunate that it can't be a custom tune, but it'll be better than nothing at all.. I heard from Dr EVO that as soon as the bench flash was loaded, there was a dramatic improvement without the added tuning.. But since Al doesn't visit to often that'll have to do for now, unless I get drunk and drive all the way up to Ct.. But since I enforce the law, I cannot be DUI and do that.. So it'll be the bench for me!! Later guys..

My car is in getting new syncros put in the transmission. The dealer is handling everything under warranty which is excellent.

The dealer has been very good so far and I'm confident that they will get it right!
