Chris,
According to R&T the RX8 does 0-60 in 5.9 sec and the Evo8 does it in 5.1 sec

That's a difference of .8 seconds to 60. In both cars I hit the rev limit in 2nd on two seperate occasions, so I was around ~70mph Since I don't have the data on 0-70mph I'll assume another .2 seconds just to make it round numbers.

Because of the two long straights (albeit with kinks that where flat out) The evo was 2 seconds faster than me to the 70mph mark (possibly less since it wasn't from zero, but then there were 3 very long fast places and only twice did I hit the rev limit). This also means that the RX8 would have lost no time in the turns, and since we're assuming I think the RX8 ran a 44.4 to the Evo's 42.7 so it may have picked up a few tenths being faster in the turns.

That's right, the RX8 is faster in the turns with the 275 tires

IMHO the reason that you ran better in the EVO then in your car in STU is that it is much easier to drive an EVO faster than an RX-8 on street tires. Your RX-8 is overmatched in STU. Kinda of like regular C5 against the Z06.

You would probably have more fun, and be more competitive with your car in B stock, than in STU. Of course you would need good R-rubber.
In fact I think a buch of guys who have won a national championship, are campagning a RX-8 this year in B stock. Since the S2000 has moved out of this class, many people think this class is wide open, and an RX-8 set up right might be as good as any other car for the class---------maybe even better.

And to get back to the above remember that the EVO runs A stock and your RX-8 runs B stock (There is a reason for this)------(The EVO is faster !) especially with both cars on street tires (The EVO has more power----has AWD-----and the suspension is more hard core right off the dealers lot)

In STU that EVO compared to your RX-8 should win just about every time------and trust me you don't want to see what it will do to you on a low traction surface (like rain-------for example)

Again the RX-8 is a great car-------but get the hell out of STU !
yOU WILL be faster do better, and have more fun !
And just maybe, just maybe you wouldn't complain so much
Take the Advice... I dropped the issue... you should do the same.

If I ever come down to run one of these rigged autoX's I'll make sure to bring some warm milk and a tube of Vagasil for Alex.

Don't want to shoot mysef down but it was not that great an accomplishment. Gordon, Alex, and I pretty much had the class wrapped up on points. The next closest was Richie in the M3 with 34 points based on his 3 events.

Gordon was in first with something like 94 points. Alex finished with 58 and I finished with 52. Had I NOT lent him my car the results would have been Me 56 and Alex 54

Previous to this when we had gone against eachother I had beat him twice and he had beat me twice.

I still have a ways to go.

hey everyone, just checkin in...

i hope you all enjoyed the COLD weather, I sure did! Freezing my *** off on my bike ride home made me wanna slip into my car, so I did... there's a noticeable power increase when its 50 versus 80 out. Former Northerners know this.

and thats about the only advantage of cold weather.

oh, yeah, and perky nipples.

on girls.

happy merry christmahanukwanzaaka
Feliz New Year

I'm sure you all felt my absence at the autox, that was me being kind to others. So Scott could get more points, etc. See, i'm a nice guy. next time, y'all may not be so lucky!
